Wrapped bun

How do you get it so the braid part doesn't originate from the left(or right) side of your head? In other words it blends with the bottom of the bun?

You can try doing two ponytails, one on top of the other. The top one you bun and the bottom one you braid, just like a typical braid down your back... then wrap?
