Hey gang!
I need some help---holidays are quickly approaching and for more special occasions, I have come to some problems with what to choose in regards to hair styles. I celebrate Xmas on Xmas Eve with my mom, Christmas Day with my Dad and his family and Boxing Day with family friends.

I'm trying to think of different styles for each day. I like wearing my hair down, so I'm thinking of some half up/half down styles.

Any ideas and links to styles, I'd be greatful. Thanks! :)

I had my hair like this (http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u21/katkero/hair/Yule20dec2008002.jpg) for my Yule celebration yesterday: a twisted halfup with roses.

That's really sweet KatKeRo! Love the roses....

I like my hair down for dressy too, and usually end up braiding it for waves and then pinning my long, grown-out bangs into a pompadour, or just pulling the front center hairline *straight* back and pinning it down. That way, I can show off my length without having it in my face.

Not sure how innovative that is, but it's simple, and can easy to dress up with clips, combs, whatever frippery strikes your fancy.....

Try them and I'm sure you'll look very pretty.

Darkhorse - I like to do a half-up by putting the hair that I pull back into a cinnamon bun and it can look quite nice :)

For my office party I did a half up with a gold metallic tie and wore a gold headband- I manipulated it so I got height between the headband and the tie at my crown (like the "bump it" styles). I'll do the same on Christmas but I'll pull the length into a side pony with a pretty tie I just got (has a gold charm). I like a lot of sparklies for the holidays.

Putting just the top front into a pomp or quiff is another favorite... or a deep side part with a lace braid going across. Or 4 little twisties held with sparkly bobby pins going straight back from your forehead. Or pulling back a section on each side from above the ear and joining them in the back and "topsy-tailing" it and sticking in a pretty comb, or braiding those pieces and joining them in a braid in back. Or what about a cage braid with pretty little clips on the way down?

I think I'm going to wear it like this for the Holidays. It's shoulder length but I managed to get it into an updo with 2 short Quattro forks - messy French twist:
