View Full Version : My first peacock twist, kind of..

For once, I'm happy for my layers when making an up-do. :)

I think you can call this a peacock twist, something like a french twist, but with all the ens sticking out. I secured it with four small clips and let the ends hang long and loose, but the layers helped so it didn't feel like a short ponytail. And it held all day, even through walking an hour or so in heavy snowing. :)

Wow, that's pretty! And a great inspiration - I always thought my hair was too long for twists, but leaving a cascade like yours, it should work for longer hair as well.

Cute! I wear my hair like that when I need it up, only its a bit short for that hairstyle, so the ends stick straight up, like a pineapple. Yours looks a lot nicer.

Very pretty! I am so happy for you! I used to do those all the time. Mine STILL sticks straight up due to the thickness/curls. I twist it up and clip it and then spray it with a mister until it "wilts" and then arrange it to look nice.

Is there a variation of this for when the hair gets too long for this? This has been my style for the past week, it's so convenient. How long do you think is too long for this style?

Pretty! I love that style. I call it my waterfall twist. My hair is kind of too long for it now, though. I can put it in but it sags and pulls within an hour or two.
