Oh gosh Debra my hair journey is a long story, but it started about ten years ago, I guess. I wont bore everyone with the details (unless you really want), but I actually didnt intend having long hair, I just knew it didnt suit me short.

I've had it below my shoulder for a long time and I have had it longer than it is now and all one length, but I prefer layers. I'm afraid I've quite often had 4 to 6 inches off my length at a time if I thought it needed it and sometimes even when it didnt :rolleyes:

I just decided earlier this year (I turned 50 LOL) to see how long I could grow it, just for the sheer hell of doing so. But the one thing I wont do is sacrifice health and condition for length. If it needs cutting I'll get it cut. Sorry I know thats not popular, but in my opinion, healthy shiny, shoulder length hair, is infinitely preferable to long hair that need to be put up all the time because it looks a mess.

Ummm I guess my hair grows between 0.5 to 1 inch a month. I know my hairdresser says it grows quite fast. I havent measured it since I first did so when I arrived here, and I've never measured it before that, so its hard to say how long it took.

I wash it and leave it in a micro towel thing for a little while and then just leave it. I then finger comb and maybe comb it with a wide tooth thingy and then leave it to dry.

This picture was taken in the afternoon a couple of days ago about 3 days after washing (I never wash it more than once a week)

As for the colour. I'm a red head anyway but I hennaed it a couple of weeks ago because I wanted back some of the vibrancy I had lost in menopause. At first I nearly had to have CPR because it went orange.:shocked:

But after a couple of days it calmed down and I was happy with the results because its not changed the colour much at all, but has given it more shine I think.

I might use henna again. I dont know yet :)
