My 3 year long journey - pic heavy!

This my first anniversary thread ever here on LHC. Now after 3 years I feel like I have something to show :-)

I joined in December 2005 with hair that was just above bra strap length, I had problems reaching BSL due to dry ends. I already knew Feye's self trim method before I joined and used it a bit too much to get rid of those dry ends :p Here I found some new ideas, oiling the ends after washing was new to me and one thing that saved my ends and helped me grow past BSL. Wearing more updos and finding more gentle washing methods has also been very good for my hair.

I've trimmed my hair regularly but sparingly to maintain a blunt hemline, I'm a blunt hemline lover on myself and I think my average thickness hair looks thicker with a blunt hemline. Some numbers:

December 2005..... 65cm / 25.4"
June 2006..............70,5cm / 27.8"
December 2006......76,5cm / 30.1"
June 2007...............82,5cm / 32.5"
December 2007......87cm / 34.3"
June 2008...............92,5cm / 36.4"
December 2008......97,5cm / 38,4"

I'll soon have one metre (100cm) of hair, which I find pretty fascinating :) I don't have a goal, I haven't really had one since reaching the first one, waist, in September 2006. Now I just grow along and see how it feels and how long I'll enjoy it.

Thank you, thank you all, it's very nice to get so many compliments :) I'm also happy to see so many fans of my natural colour, here people generally find it boring because it's pretty common.

For me it has been worth giving up at least one inch each year to keep an even hemline, I like my hair that way. I would probably have 4-5 inch longer hair if I hadn't trimmed but with very thin ends as I have a bunch of "gallopers", hairs that grow faster than the rest. That's not for me, I like my hair like this.

One thing that I have is pretty steady, but not exactly amazing growth. I get 1-1.5cm a month, which is pretty much around that common half an inch, no one inch a month here. But in 3 years it adds up when I haven't done any major trims. Hair growing definitely requires patience, I still feel like nothing happens as the difference in a month or two is so tiny but when a month or two becomes a year, two years and so on, you start to see the difference :) End of aisling's wisdom words for today for newbies :silly:
