:( I did the same thing in...'94, I think. I dyed my hair over my Christmas break with "temporary" black dye. I expected it to be gone by the end of my Christmas vacation. :( It was not. I ended up keeping it dyed for a full two years, because I couldn't stand the two-tone colors (and I had to look neat for work). I utterly destroyed 40" of beautiful hair just because I was a little bored and wanted a change. :(

Now, it's finally gone, and I'm approaching hip length again. It will happen for you, too. Hang in there. :)

It's frustrating. My hair was BSL when curly and I dyed it black. I hated it and tried to strip the color out and my hair turned yellow, red, orange, green, and all sorts of lovely colors. It was thinner and broke very easily. I ended up getting a lot cut off and had to have it dyed medium brown by a professional and the color didn't last because of the stripper I used. Ugh. My hair went pixie short not too long after that. That was about 7 years ago. Never again.
