Well for once in my life im happy to report I have got fatter, well my hair circumferance has! from just over 3" to a full 4" in my 16 months of being a member, this is measured at my nape. Measured with my grown out fringe im just over 4".

I have never, ever had thick hair in my life, this is a major acomplishment for me. I don't know if its the vitamins or the air drying but whatever it is im so happy!

Just wanted share with you all, if my hair can get fatter anybodies can. I was always told my hair was too thin to have very long just goes to show eh?

thank you. I noticed it was thicker as a clip I used to use to pony my hair just would not fasten and kept pinging off. I am over the moon at this, all my family except my Gran had/has really thick hair. My daughters both have 6" circumference although Im not that thick and probably never will be its a major improvement.

This is encouraging, I lost an inch due to a massive shed recently, and now I have hope of being a thicky again someday...

Well I use no heat, I have been oiling my ends daily when they look fluffy i use olive oil and if they look ok either coconut or sweet almond oil.

I CWC, put a deep conditioner on at least once a week some times twice. I use cones and non cones which ever is available normally tigi moisture manic more often than not which is coneless but its not a delibrate decision i just like it!

I bun most days and take vits-kelp, multi, korean ginseng, omega 3, calcium, vit D, magnesium and have just started back on biotin.

Thats about it, i cant pin point anything other than vits which i think have helped. HTH xx

well you know, you probably remember my shedding in September I wrote a post about thinning temples? well I started on calcium, vit D and magnesium aound this time, i wonder if there is a connection? my vits have zinc in them too, which i read only yesterday on here i think that they help with thinning. Put zinc in search worth a try!

Yay! I love your chubby hair!

Mine is getting a bit plumper as well. It still needs fattening up, but I bought my locks a sweet little ginger-bread cottage . . . perhaps with enough time spent there they will fatten up quite a lot . . .

Well, it wouldn't be the FIRST time I made a terrible mess in my hair. My hair has been a laboratory for the past year. I've had most of the kitchen in there at one time or another! When I think of all the yummy, deliciousness that has been in my hair . . . if I had put that in my belly instead I would be as big as a house!

My latest is putting yummy candy on my legs and using it to yank the hairs out by the roots. My legs are all like . . . wow! . . . yummy candy for us! And then R I P !!! And they're all like . . . OWWWWW! Now what did you want to go and do that for? My legs are so confused and now they duck when they see a lolly. Hee hee.

Congratulations on achieving iii-dom!

Now if I could just find a way to siphon some of the fat off my thighs and translate it to hair thickness....

Hmm....I'd love to shift the fat on my hips/butt/thighs to my circumfrence of my hair.

Just a question though--I thought we couldn't make our hair 'thicker'. Not to take away anything from the OP, but my understanding is you can't add hair folicles where you have none. My only guess is, like myself, the OP is growing out hair--I had too much bang, so I grew out the majority of them and, as a result, I have a thicker ponytail.

Just curious--hope I haven't offended anyone :)

that's so exciting!

i'm pretty inspired by this. i have very, very thin hair and i'd do just about anything to add some plumpness to my ponytail.
currently, i'm only taking biotin and a multivitamin, but i think i'll try out your vitamin concoction and see if i can add some oomph myself.

thanks for sharing.

Yay! Well done! Clips pinging off is something that us thick-hairs have been peeved about for years, but if you are happy about it and are joining the club, welcome! :D ;)

It seems like we actually can make it a bit thicker, mine has become thicker al well. I first measured when I joined here and I didn't write the number up anywhere but it was just barely ii, a year later it was at the middle of ii category. I think in my case most of it are that individual hairs have became thicker, but I have also seen lot of new growth especially when I was scalp massaging regularly (had to stop that because my scalp freaked out). Now ATM I'm using lavender essential oil and also ylang ylang and rosemary, mixed with aloe vera gel on my scalp, have been doing this since this fall and I could swear I have lot of new hair at the nape!

Henna was one thing that has helped my individual hairstrands thicken up, as was moisture. I assume also that my hairtype has changed with age but I should grow out my henna to see if that's true :) My hair used to be super fine and thin, now it's more on the M kategory and even visually so much more thicker, partly thanks to waves I got after I joined here.

YAY! That is phenomenal, and I'd hazard to guess its a function of both - gentle handling and happy-hair-and-scalp nutrition. Whatever it was, congrats on your circumference increase :D

great news! You must be totally proud!

I've gone from 1.5" at the crown to just under 3"...it's hard to measure my thickness because my hair tapers so much, but this is something. Maybe some day I'll have fatness at the nape, too... :D

Arctic--I believe I did read somewhere that color will plump up finer hair strands and make them thicker. This is why hair seems thicker after any coloring. However, any good hair routine will reduce the amount of hair breakage, and new hair growth, which wil add hair to a ponytail.

I'm glad for you and the OP! That's great!! :)
