That are easy for my works holiday party on Friday? I like my hair back but I like it down as well.
I wont have much time to fuss as I'm going home to change and go...so simple and quick?

Nothing beats a flexi-8 half updo.

Or you can make a very simple coiled bun and leave the rest down, maybe damp bun beforehand so you have some curls going on.

I think a half up with the top half in a sideways infinity bun (with the extra hanging down your back) with a fancy hairstick looks really nice. I wear my hair like that sometimes and have gotten compliments on it. :)

Maybe the top 1/2 in a gibson braid with a pretty sparklie in there. Then the bottom half down, of course.

This is what I came up with for a party. It shows off the length but keeps my hair contained.

spidermom your hair is always changing colours and waviness!! that is great! if it didnt show "spidermom" i would never guess it was you :)

You got barrettes ?My favourite half up is to just put half of your hair in the matching or your favourite barrette.

Wow you have some beautiful long hair.

I don't know how long it would take but the pictures of fairytale braids are pretty. Maybe a half french braid or a Lace Braid (http://www.dreamweaverbraiding.com/braids/lace.htm) ?

Like I said I don't know how long they would take as I am just starting to learn them and on short hair.

ETA: You basically do a Topsy Tail, then make 3 braids, then tuck them into the top of the topsy tail.
Edit AGAIN! LOL: You would do this to the top of your hair and leave the bottom down.
