That's my question for all of you... Is it possible to go from shoulder length hair to BSL in that amount of time?
I"m hoping that it will only take me one year... but I want to know what you all have experienced? My hair tends to grow somewhat on the faster side... about 1 - 1 1/2 inches a month. And I"m not cutting it, no trims unless I really really have to, which I"m going to try not to do.
What do you think?

Very possible. I've gone from stacked bob to bsl in the back (stretched out of course) in 15 months.

It depends on your growth rate but yes, it's certainly possible!

It sounds like it will be possible for you. For me? Nope.

Yep, sure is! I've gone from shoulder length to almost waist length in 15 months.

That sounds very doable, but stay away from the scissors (except for microtrims or s & d).

I did it back when I was in the benign neglect stage from Oct 2007 - Aug 2008. I didn't trim but once I got to BSL I needed to trim due to damage and layers. I am going to need to trim now until probably April 2009. So that's 8 months of staying at BSL deliberately because I didn't take care of those ends beforehand.
So if you're not trimming and don't have much damage I think it's definitely doable.

depends on how fast ya grow. I went from APL to a little past BSL in 9 months :)

Yep, it took me 6 months to get from shoulder to APL so I'm thinking 6 months from APL to BSL for me... meaning I should get there by spring 2009. Of course it is possible. Shoulder to blunt, healthy waist in a year? Probably not... that might take more like 1.5 years

If your hair really does grow that fast and you have a short distance from shoulder to BSL then probably yes. It wouldn't happen for me. I grow 1/2" per month. It took me about 2 years but I trimmed along the way.

Yup. Of course, shorter people tend to have an easier time of it. ;)

Yes, it's entirely possible.

Judging by my growth so far, I should easily hit BSL by May next year. I do want to say though it's really important you get all the right vitamins and minerals in your diet, that will help accelerate your hair growth!

Yup, it can absolutely be done, and as a short gal I can say while it is nice to hit the milestones faster I am sad my hair won't have the same amazing, elegant effect as a tall woman. Oh well!

You can come pretty close....I had a bit of a stacked bob in October '07 which was way above the shoulders, now I am at APL, (3 inches from BSL) 13 months later.

I started with APL and was at hip length after a year, so I think it should be possible.

I have grown from shoulder length to BSL in a year, including a 1" trim, so it's very possible :)

It probably also depends on how tall you are. I am short and have a short torso, so shoulder length and BSL are not very far apart on me. So maybe it would take less time on a short person than one who is tall or has a long torso. :)

For me no :sad I reached apl last December and I am creeping slowly to bsl, it depends on how long the distance is from shoulders to bsl for me this is 12" and I no way grow 1" a month, but for faster growers perfectly doable!

I'll echo what others have said - given your growth rate, I'd say it's possible. I wish mine grew as fast, but I generally get 1/2 in max per month, so I've got a couple of years before I reach bsl. Good luck!

Wow...there are some fast growers here! I have 6" to go until BSL (true BSL, covering the bra, um...elastic, not really strap, I guess) and that's one year for me, and I'm past shoulder right now, heading toward APL, actually. :)
I grow about 1/2"-3/4" per month but on the safe side, I like to think of it in terms of 1/2".
Regardless, enjoy the journey and happy growing!

I just posted my Halloween 2007 - Halloween 2008 photos (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/album.php?albumid=2133), showing shoulder-length and BSL.

It's very possible. I did it in a little over a year.
*edit* my signature is from march by the way, and I cut my hair to shoulder length in september 07. :)
