... and have you noticed benefits from it? I wonder if I should start doing that... I just think that conditioner spreads easily in wet hair. Some people say that conditioner absorbs better after towel-drying.

I just squeeze through my hair so it’s not sopping wet. Like you, I find it easier to apply the product to wet hair, and I need less product. I’ve not noticed a difference in the results.

Nope. Waste of a perfectly good towel. I just wring it out, not like a rag (you will break strands), just put your hands around the (combined) tail, and squeeze, like milking a cow more like wringing out a rag! Don't do that, please. :(

Anyhooo, I just put the conditioner on the hair that is no longer dripping (my conditioner would run off my hair and wouldn't be able to soak).

Thanks for answers! Yes it might be that I've heard this tip from conditioner sellers...;)

I always put my conditioner in soaking wet hair. Sometimes I add more water if I feel it's not spreading well enough. I will sometimes wring out my hair before adding my leave-in conditioner though, then I pop my hair in a towel until I'm ready to style.

I also wring out my hair first, though sometimes I do a second round of conditioner and leave the hair wet

I wring my hair with a towel before a deposit dye or k18 treatment per instructions… for conditioner of any kind I gently squeeze excess water with my hands. Do conditioners recommend towel drying first on the label?

Now when you asked, some of them actually do. The say "add the conditioner to towel-dry hair". But i don't believe they are any special hair gurus that give this recommendation anyway, it's just their idea...

I apply leave-in conditioner after my hair has been up in a flannel turban for awhile and all the drip has been absorbed.

I’ll be reading my conditioner bottles now, I have 3-4 different ones in my cabinet to look over :o I will continue to jist gently squeeze out excess water with my hands though. I get fine results that way

My hair is wavy and it's best if I scrunch the conditioner into it while it's soaked. I notice I get very good results doing that. It absorbs it better and such.

Nope. I gently squeeze the water out of my hair, then add the conditioner. All my styling products go on wet hair, too.

When I did use shampoo and conditioner, I wouldn't use a towel, but I would squeeze it thoroughly to get it as dry as possible so that the conditioner wouldn't be fighting past the water, if that makes sense. No idea if it truly made a difference though!

I dry it just a little bit. I have no proof that makes any real difference, it just feels better for me.

omg, it's a coincidence but i've started doing this a few washes ago and it seems the mask/conditioner works better that way. if i just squeeze the water out, there's always more at the top of my hair that kind of dilutes the conditioner when it drips down

No, I just squeeze out the excess water, as the others have said. If my hair is too wet, than nothing gets absorbed into it. As a very dry/frizzy haired person, I have to let the conditioner soak into my hair for at least a while for me to get any results.

Same as many here, I squeeze some of the water out and apply on wet hair. I find it easier to apply product on wet hair, and I don't need as much (I already use more than I'd like) product with wet hair. I apply leave-in conditioner on towel dry hair.

My hair doesn't hold moisture well. I put my conditioner onto wet hair, but often find I need to stick my head back under the shower again to get enough moisture to spread it through!

No just the opposite. For the conditioner on my scalp (CO-washer here) I dilute it with water. And for the lenghts Melissa recommended soaking wet hair when applying the conditioner bar and I fin that it works best that way.

This. I need my hair wet both to make application easier and also for it to absorb better. After applying, I use my cupped hands to gather the length and squish it in then TT to get all the hairs. I know wet brushing is generally frowned upon, but it works for me .

I can't imagine putting conditioner on towel dried hair would be better than the usual wet hair unless it was a special treatment that had particular instructions saying it needed it to work properly.
B.T.W. I was just in the shower today and remembered that 'squish to condish' motto from years ago! So I went squish squish like SandyBottom mentioned with the conditioner in wet hair. I may be imagining things but I'm sure it felt more deeply conditioned once I rinsed it! I guess perhaps just the act of taking time to squish means that the conditioner was on my hair for longer than usual. I don't know. :o
