No trimming 2024! Mini challenge
For this challenge, the no-trimming period is 11 April to June 31st 2024.

In order to participate, you need to trim at the latest Jan 10th 2024

No trims are allowed during this quarter of the year for you to be part of this challenge.

If you want to not trim for under 3 months and over 4 months this thread will be best for you

https://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=132

Rules for the challenge:

You may maintain bangs, face-framing layers, undercuts, shaved sides, etc
Since this isn't an official no trim challenge bangs are allowed to be cut in but NOT layers undercuts shaved sides etc
You may S&D.
You may not trim.

This is mainly for people who want to take part of the bigger challenges but struggle with them. consider it a gateway thread to not trimming.

Good Luck!

Extra info to note as that this thread will be run 4 times in 2024 I'll just change the dates, just to save making 4 different threads you can trim between each quarter

That's pretty much my routine - a trim approximately every 3 months, give/take a week or so. My next trim is scheduled for January 6, so it will surely be after April 1 that I will schedule for the trim after that. I have a hair stylist that I like to see and always schedule my next appointment before I leave the salon.

Count me in!

I'll be happy to join :D
Next trim scheduled for end of December and it should be no problem with holding off until April.

I wasn't going to join this one as I was going to do 6 months but I want to start maintaining in June to get rid of layers/black so I'll join the first quarter here then go to the no trimming club from April to June 6

I’m in.
Originally planned a bigger trim (5-10cm) after new years, but so close to my original goal length and a bigger trim before April would mean that I would be growing towards that goal again. But don’t think my ends like another 6 months. Plus this way I get to have fresh ends in time for my birthday in early April

Joining! My last trim was in September, and I don't feel I really need another one for a while. I'll either do it right before the challenge starts if I think my hair needs it, or (even better) at the end of the challenge.

I'll be doing this myself bite sized challenges to help me get through the year

This sounds perfect for me. I think I like microtrimming, but I never remember to do it, and then I fall into the dreaded cycle of:
1) trim!
2) hmmm maybe I can even it out a bit
3)hmmmm lets do it again
4)forget about trimming
5)oh wait I haven't trimmed in way too long

Or worse, I take exactly nothing off, call it a trim, and then wonder why my ends feel dry

I'm hoping a three month cycle will keep me on track. And hey, even if it doesn't I'll still end up with longer hair.

Also, Bat, I love your new profile pic. Your makeup is really impressive!

I micro(ish) trimmed today in preparation for this. Tomorrow will probably be cleaning up any weird hairs, and then I'll put the scissors away!

Did a bit off dusting as I trimmed my layers yesterday even though I said no trimming before the end of this challenge. So hopefully I am more than ready for the next three months

I think I'll join! I haven't trimmed in 4 years but I plan to trim sometime this spring. I think I'll do a preliminary trim tomorrow, do the 3 month challenge, then have someone clean up my ends in April.

Last trim was yesterday (02/01-24), and my starting length is 80 cm.

I joined in the no trim 2024 for the first half, so this mini goal will help keep me motivated too. Three months has been the usual for my regular trims this past year.

Ready for the challenge ;)
I have a solid inch to BSL ( tucked my shirt under the bra strap).
Hair a little bit messy after yesterday's typing. It really hates being without styling products, even refreshing didn't work well. Oh, lesson learned

A bit late but here's my starting point. I definitely want thicker ends eventually. Maybe a trim every three months will work well.

I had a certain look I wanted to do for goth night that required a bald head and even a couple days stubble would have ruined it

Sounds like a good time to start a two month mini challenge!

I'm doing fine for this challenge, but I'm starting to think about getting a professional trim just because I am not very good at cutting my own hair. Thankfully, it's just wavy enough that I can get away with it being uneven.

I have to say, I'm out. I was going to wait until the end of this challenge to cut about 5cm off of my ends. They were tangling and thin but I wanted to wait. That was, until I had three knots that I had to cut out. They were all within the last 5cm of my hair. So, I cut it and will have to wait to join the next 3 month challenge.

And I am also out. Haven’t like how my ends looked and felt lately, and there for spent the last couple weeks contemplating changing my plan for this year from of just on big trim and continuing to grow it to maintain current length for a while.
Now I just need to decide if I’m going to do a micro trim once a month or every other month.

Microtrims are such an amazing way to thicken up a hem and enjoy the length you've collected! Good luck!

It’s been a little less than 5 months since my last trim. My ends look okay! Though I’m much more attentive to them now since I’m at classic and they’e just going to get more vulnerable from here. My hope is that they’ll last until nov. 2024.

I might take part in this if I can afford a tidy up before the cut off date. I haven't actually trimmed my hair since I re buzzed around Jan 14th ish

I definitely want a tidy up before I join nothing much just to have the back tapered in

Bat
April 1st, 2024, 07:21 PM
I ended up tidying it up myself not much just to get the tips off at the back and to get rid of the extra coarse curlies

So I'm good to go now!
