Can y'all give me some braid inspiration/post pics of your favorite ways to (protectively) braid your hair? I practically live in a loose side braid but I'm looking to switch things up!

Here is the major braid thread, most of my braid pictures are there: https://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=45350

This is my day 14 hair, yes, I haven’t shampooed my hair for two weeks.
When you are really good at plaiting but you have black hair so any intricate details won’t show up unless you have FIVE lamps pointing at your hair from different angles. And trust me, a black backdrop is the best backdrop to highlight black hair.
It’s been a while since I did French Braid on my own hair. I added some colorful extensions to spice things up, also it’s easier for visual learners to separate the strand. I love the texture those colors bring. I videotaped the braiding process but I’m not sure if I want to release it yet.

Just managed to put four of my braids together from last year. Which one do you prefer?

My mom spent three days crocheting this hat and I plaited a 4-strand braid with the leftover ribbon and modeled for her.
Of course I pancaked the Hello Kitty out of this braid, in the end it looks kind of wonky.

At FTL, I don’t really consider a flapping long braid as a protective style, so I always bun it up even if I braid, I sleep in a loose braid inside a silk bonnet to reduce mechanical damage.

Reverse braiding is one of my favorite techniques:

Or a lace braid on the side as accent:

Or section the hair near the nape in summer to avoid annoyance:

Or braid the rest of the length after making the basic bun:

LHC has a 10 pic limit, all my daily styles are updated on instagram, I bun 90% of the time, braids are just a way to accentuate my updos.

Thank you very much, I just practice every day to get it better. I’m glad I record the whole journey so I have many footage.
