I am in need of some help.

I've been a not very active member of this community for a few years so I don't know if this is a topic discussed elsewhere, but here goes my question.

I currently have tailbone-ish length curly hair and my wedding coming up in a few months. I need to start thinking about a hairstyle, but I'm not sure where to start. I need a bun style because the back of my dress is gorgeous and I don't want to cover it, but it also needs to be a fairly secure bun style because I need a good anchor for my long veil. I also wanted to do some sort of elegant face framing swoops so it's not just a plain every day bun.

I was wondering if anyone on here had pictures of their own wedding styles or any YouTube tutorials they could recommend. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!!

I do have a fair bit of experience doing my own hair so I'm confident I can do my wedding hair myself, I just need ideas mostly.
(I don't trust hairstylists with my hair, and was hoping to save money by doing it myself)

Hello!
I saw someone put a small sideways french braid under some hair to hid it.
I was debating on loose waves, but now I'm thinking about celebrating my natural texture. I saw someone on tiktok who had straight hair and it looked very chic.

I'm sure there are threads on this topic - try the Advanced Search and see what comes up. :)

Holy crap! Your name threw me for a loop. I know a Madeline C. who is also getting married this summer. But, her hair is much straighter and shorter than yours.

On topic, I'd look at some of Torrin Page's styles on youtube. I'd maybe do a braided (or French braided) bun with spin pins.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

My first thought was the same as Shorty’s - a French braided cinnamon bun would be beautiful and anchor your veil well.

Would a rose bun be too much?

Hope I'm not too late!!

I've done this one at either hip or TBL and it looked amazing, it's a braid "bun", lasts all day and doesn't hurt the head.
You'd need to fluff out/pancake the braids to accomodate the length, and you don't have to straighten it, you could just pick a few pieces out and fix them in place for a chic look.

You can easily do this (https://br.pinterest.com/pin/649081365063851821/) for the front bits, or, even easier, this:

This is my hairstyle-related Pinterest pannel (https://br.pinterest.com/morganazoric/penteados/), there's a lot more in there, including curly hairstyles and styles that work on most textures.

Remember to never wet the hair w hairspray, it'll melt it down and it'll be a pain to wash off. Do as many thin layers as you want, letting them dry completely before the next, but never. Wet. The. Hair.
