I came across this at a hair-stick webshop (https://tidalhairsticks.com/collections/entire-collection/products/reina), and think it looks super cute! No idea how to determine how it was done though.

Any ideas?

I am not great at guessing from looking, but the wrap around the outside of the bun looks like a nautilus bun could at least mimic the look :o

I agree - it looks like a nautilus (with extra twisty ends) to me!

Might even be bee-butt bun turned cinnamon bun.

I was thinking it could be a Cinnamon Bun with a more Bee-butt construction (later coils wrapped behind the first instead of spiraling outward) and since the stick just catches the outer most loop it is exposing those inner loops. Depending on length and thickness that could be a stable bun.

I third this.
I have done something very similar last year, my hair is long enough that I don’t need any extra sticks or pins to fix the nautilus buns.

I even made a video tutorial, in case anyone’s interested/

We're definitely thinking along the same lines, neko. :) It doesn't appear to me to be an "inward" coil type of bun, so IMO it's coils one over the other.

Does it look to you-all like it's fed in from either side, perhaps with an initial series of twists or a lace braid?

Yes, that looks like a twist or loose lace braid.
