Mine always changes depending on my mood or how much I feel I'll succeed

For the days I doubt myself my goal will be hip. but my wishful thinking goals are midthigh /knee

Your hair has grown quite a bit since I joined which was not long ago at all! Wishful thinking would be justifiable if you ask me :)

I'm at APL and my goal is waist, so that's an easy one in the context of LHC. When I get there though, I imagine myself thinking I want my braided hair to be at waist, so my goal might end up being hip or tailbone.

I only know I wouldn't want to be sitting on it ever, as much as you all inspire me to change my mind :D

The speed it grows isn't the issue it's my ability to ruin it on impulse that gets me xD I've been to shoulder, then chop to chin then back to CBL then back to buzzed twice in the 2.5 years I've been here

I haven't posted in any of the length categories for a long time. I don't know what my goal is. Some days I want something short and easy (something wash and wear, nothing I have to style), other days I wonder how long it will grow if I never cut it again.

I wish I knew! I didn't change what I was eating, stress level hadn't changed, just all the sudden my hair grew more and then stopped again.

Although I adore longer lengths on everyone else, I definitely don't want to sit on my hair either so I get it :flower:

I'm considering my goal terminal, but I love a blunt hemline so when I can't maintain enough thickness to feel happy with it that will be my "terminal". Is there a word for this?

I think I was! I've been at calf now for a few years. One of these days I will update my profile picture or something. I miss my nice backdrop mural though! (And that skirt. It was a good skirt.)

I think terminal is such an awesome goal cause it's no set length so say if you had a goal of knee and can't get there it's super disappointing it's less likely to be disappointing if you didn't have the goal of knee if that makes any sense.

Yay! I love the concept of this thread and I liked reading everyone's responses so far and seeing many of the faces I've enjoyed in my short time here all in one thread.

Since there seem to be many variations on the terminal theme mine is time-based. I'm a "10-year term-inal," which I suppose unless I have some crazy genes I don't know about for a super long anagen phase, or unless I really can't get a handle on breakage in that time and wind up shortchanging myself that way, that would make me terminal by default. But I'm not seriously cutting my hair for the next 9 years and 10 months at least. Right now I plan to only S&D, I'm 100% no-trim 2023 at the least. But I might decide I need a proper trim here or there. We will see. Currently partway down my neck.

I'm prone to post on the classic to knee thread. I don't have a true goal, tho. I want to grow but I don't know how much. Plus, I think my terminal will be something around mid thigh on me and at the same time, I want to keep my ends thicker than how terminal length usually looks...

No goal in mind. I dyed it at around apl and slowly cut it off as it hit waist. Since then though no trimming.

Well, I recommend doing it in 2024, you will likely have to trim some as growing from bald can leave hemlines very uneven (depending on the person), if you do it in 2024 instead of 2023 you can have a better grasp of what youre working with

That is also true I had a trim today so it should last me a couple months lm thinking I might just cut the hemline and work towards a bob this year, who knows 🤣

I am hanging out in the Waist to Tailbone thread right now. I'm just an inch or so past WL so should be able to hit TBL next year. I am committed to NO trimming for all of 2023. I tend to give myself smaller goals, a bit at a time. Right now, my goal is Classic, but I don't intend to stop there.

Knee is easy, you don't have to do anything, literally, to get there. You could even lie in a coma. It is though really hard getting used to it :p

Your much younger than me so you have plenty of time to reach knee if you keep up what you are doing for me in my mid 50s by the time I reach knee though I've not reached apl either, I got very close though and chopped it off z much regret

Knee is only easy with you have good genetics, don't dye and rarely cut. It's harder for us cut and dye fanatics

OMG I hated that! I did a skin fade in 2019 before the grow out and I did NOT like the sandpaper stage. My skin was so irritated. Felt so weird to lay on a pillow with like a micrometer of hair coming out.

I don't think I've managed to get it past bra-strap length in adulthood, so that would be a first if I managed it. My hair is thin - well, it's very thin in the front and sides (genetics) and more dense from the crown back, but the individual strands are also fine. So it shows damage, which is partly why I end up cutting it.

Anyway, I like the idea of going from buzz, where I started, and seeing how long it can grow. You can grow with fine/thin hair if you are careful. There was a member here who managed to get to floor length also there is a no goal thread somewhere
I too like the idea of growing buzz to long especially if you have photos to compare too

I need to take more photos. I've been on this forum for ages, but I don't have many permissions because I don't post enough. But having pics will definitely help me stay motivated!

Even if you can't put pictures on LHC you could always make a personal journal somewhere

I have a random discord server that I post my hair color history or if you want a public record there's always Instagram
