As always, I’ll preface this by saying I did search, but I didn’t find a thread exactly like this question. If I missed it, please point me!
I’ve worn a LWB regularly since WL, but now I often have my hair in a single English braid and need it to be in a bun in a moment’s notice. I’ve been doing a LWB with the braid, and it’s fine, but is there something better?
What’s your favorite bun that gets your braid up off your back the quickest? Held with a stick/fork as a bonus, but I’ll take pinned styles as well. TIA! :waving:

I find a nautilus works well on a braid, is super fast, and stays put! Plus you can use a stick or fork

I’ve never had great luck with a nautilus, but maybe it will hold better braided, I’ll definitely try it! Thanks.

I wear my hair in a braided cinnamon bun all the time - usually, I use two claw clips but it holds well with a fork or a stick as well. Stable, looks nice, comfortable, flexible. ;)

Pinless braided bun (https://youtu.be/2iu2yQJdtls). I usually put a second stick through the ends for security.

Nautilus is my at-a-moment's-notice braided bun, but I find that a pinless braided bun also holds pretty securely (esp. if it starts from a French braid).

I have tried a pinless braided bun a few times and it never felt secure and the stick would go all wonky. I’ll have to work on it though, I see it in pics on here often and it always looks so pretty and symmetrical.
I’ve never used two sticks for a bun though. Do you put the second one in front of or behind the first?

Another vote for nautilus. It's hit-and-miss unbraided, for me (more miss than hit, really ) but braided is great. Holds solid with just one stick, which is a real rarity for me.

I love the chameleon bun for either loose or braided hair. Very solid with one stick as long as you size the initial loops correctly.

Same. This is my go-to style, and I sleep in this. It also works with both a stick or fork (I prefer forks for stability). The braid also retains my whurl pattern so my hair is nice when I take it out. People sometimes say it looks classy. It's super quick to put up once my hair is in a braid. It's the perfect style for me!

I love how a braided cinnabun looks on both of you elise and baanoo! It’s been a minute since I tried this one, maybe it will go better now that my ends aren’t so blunt or if I start with a French braid for even more taper. Hummm.
