I am bombarded with add for the curlpro curler. It looks good in theory but curious if anyone has experience with it. Waist length hennaed hair that is hard to curl, or at least hold one for long. The doughnut with a ponytail at night has best results but still only lasts a few hours. Thanks for any replies...

I just can't recommend heat tools in general. I don't think it's worth the permanent damage for a very temporary hairstyle.
Even if you use heat tools, the curls will still likely only last a few hours, unless you use CRAPTONS of hair spray!
It'd be better in the long term to just do heatless curls and hairspray them, because hairspray can at least be washed out, it is less likely to permanently damage your hair.

I'm not trying to shame anyone who does choose to heat style, this is just my personal opinion.
