I am planning on doing some star wars hair styles tonight after my hair dries to celebrate May the 4th! I'm planning on using a mini lightsaber as a hair stick, and some space buns. Anyone got any other ideas? Links to videos would be wonderful!

Awesome! So far I've done space buns (Leia inspired), A Rey inspired look, and a LWB using a lightsaber as a hair stick. I plan to try a few more (like Padme's Mustafar hair) after I sleep. Ill dump all the photos here after I'm done playing XD

Did these Leia buns a couple of months back, but since I didn't have time to style my hair today, I count these as my contribution for May the 4th :)

I don't have enough hair for a style, but we will be watching Return of the Jedi tonight (jar jar binks makes my kids happy so...).

Today I'm wearing Leia's crown braids from the Hoth scenes in The Empire Strikes Back. (Don't tell anybody I just did a Madora because I thought it was better for containing my long curtain bangs and hiding my fourth-day-hair grease.)
This was actually one of my go-to hairstyles before my big chop in January, so I'm glad my hair's grown enough to be able to do it again! May the 4th be with you all!! Go start a rebel alliance or put blue food coloring in a glass of milk or something.

How strange I found I had NOT ENOUGH hair for that style. Ill be posting photos soon XD. Your looks better than mine does!

UGH THE ELASTICS. It took me an hour and 4 tries to even get a decent result. My poor hair!

There should be a description of it somewhere on the forum, but basically it refers to pulling at the edges of braids/twists/buns to make them look fuller or more shaggy :) I find it works best for updos, otherwise it can cause really bad braid shred (where your braids start to look mangy and ragged very quickly).
For this style, I pancakes after pinning each twist and before going around the bun again with the next twist. I used u pins and Bobby pins to lock the whole thing in place. I'll try and find the tutorial I followed, it should be on YouTube.

It's a toy used as one LOL but I want an actual saber stick if those exist.

I used to do Princess Leia’s cloud city hair quite often…lol at least what I thought it was! In my mind, I remembered a ponytail with three looped braids. Taking a look at it again, I think it’s two looped braids and a bun. (https://diythegalaxyofstarwars.wordpress.com/2017/09/16/diy-the-empire-strikes-back-bespincloud-city-leia-hair-movie-accurate/) At any rate, I’ll have to try them both, because it feels like some of her more accessible hairstyles. More accessible than giant buns over the ears, at least :rollin:
