View Full Version : Professional Hair Care Users Thread

I've been wanting a thread like this for a while, especially because professional haircare products is what I'm into and prefer for my hair. Thought I'd make this for those that do use salon brands as well that want to share what worked for them and didn't, so we can help each other out when choosing new products and make the most out of our money! Also a good place to keep it all together for referencing in the future.
I'd also encourage you to post what you're using right now, what you think of it and if you want to keep repurchasing it or are looking for something else to replace it with for better results.
Personally, I have seen the most difference with my hair ever since I started using them. Obviously they're not miraculous and I still do the capillary schedule method and use everything on a need-basis routine so my hair doesn't get saturated with one ingredient, and I rotate quite a few. It's what works best for me.
My favorite brand is Kérastase, and I think it's superior to L'oréal Professional line because I do visibly notice that the technology is much better and it's also more concentrated. With that said, if your hair doesn't need it, then you probably won't see the results you want.
Let's discuss! :)
(If you don't think expensive haircare products are worth the money, I kindly ask you to just please move on to another thread. There are many others you can comment on that are for you.)

I'll start!
I've been stuck in South America for the past few months with some of my products, but not all of them. I bought a lot of local brands and at first it was okay but then my hair went back to what it was before... So I went back to my professional products, and my hair improved a lot again, but I have used some up that I did not plan to repurchase.
Shampoo
- Bed Head Resurrection: I recently usd up the last few ml I had brought with me. I like it a lot, it's creamy but not drying at all, yet it did not make my hair greasy. I would repurchase again since it's cheap and good but I do prefer Kérastase and I think I'd rather use scalp exfoliating shampoos from now on.
- Kérastase Thérapiste: I like this a lot. It's very thick, creamy and extremely concentrated. The only shampoo I can use and not use conditioner or mask afterwards and I get no tangles or hay texture. I would repurchase, if the new one by K. I got isn't as softening as promised on my hair to rotate. I really love using it with the mask from the same line.
I have 1L of Wella Fusion at home as well, maybe half a bottle left, but I haven't used it lately. Similar to the Bed Head one to be honest, but just more softening and richer. I like it enough, but not sure I'd repurchase yet. I ordered 1L of Kérastase Bain Riche Dermo Calm for my sensitive, ichy scalp and dry hair and have high hopes. I'll decide from there.
Conditioner
- Bed Head Resurrection: This has been my favorite one for years, it's super hydrating and if you leave it on for 5 minutes it acts as a deep conditioning (not treatment) mask. Good for dryness and frizz, it's amazing at detangling and softening the hair. I don't have any right now, but I would repurchase again because it's so cheap in case the others I have in mind aren't as good.
I have 1L of the Sebastian Penetraitt conditioner at home, butI didn't use it often enough. It seemed similar to the Resurrection one to me to be honest, and not sure it's worth more money. I'll have to assess that later, but I've been curious about Kérastase conditioners (Genesis, Discipline, Magistral) and Davines (Love smoothing and Love curl) lately but haven't decided yet.
Masks
Hydration
- Redken All Soft Heavy Cream: I'm surprised by how good this is since I don't really see results with hydrating masks most of the time because they give that 'feather light' look, and I like my mane to be controlled and frizz free. I do have to leave this on for 15 min at least to see the resuls I want because my hair is thick and dry, but it has given me the best result yet. It's especially good the day after, then my hair looks silky soft and shiny as hell, and not weighed down at all.
I did not like L'oréal Curl Contour or Inforcer for this, or Joico Blonde Life and Intense Hydrator enough to repurchase. Wella Fusion works a lot better, but still not my favorite. I want to try Sebastian Penetraitt, Kérastase Chroma Riche and Genesis next for this step. I got a travel size of Wella Brilliance as well so I'll report about that later.
Nourishing
- Sebastian Dark Oil: I've recently used this up and while it's good and better than most, it didn't leve me impressed enough to repurchase. It's nourishing, but it's light and doesn't give me that sealed silky result I'm looking for. Not exactly the product's fault since it does boast it's lightweight technology, so it's better for fine hair which is not my case I guess.
I did not like L'oréal Nutrifier or Liss Unlimited for this step, and wasn't too impressed with Wella Luxe Oil either to be honest but it was the best one out of the 3 on my hair. I've recently acquired Keune Satin Oil and Vital Nutrition in big sizes to test, and a travel size of Wella Nutri Enrich. I'm still curious about Kérastase Magistral and Masquintense Thick, as well as maybe the Oleo-Relax one and Moroccanoil Smooth. Joico Moisture Recovery and Luster Lock were too heavy and too strong for my hair, they left my hair weighed down and kinda greasy but also dry thus rebound effect.
Repair
Ah, my favorite step because my holy grail mask is also here hehehe
- Kérastase Thérapiste: Ah, the love of my life. I compare everything to this simply because it raised the standard for me so much. It gives me perfect hair: silky, soft, frizz-free, shiny, moisturised and just luscious. It's extremely repairing but doesn't give that stiff/dry result from other protein masks and every time I use it, it leaves me blown away. It changed my hair to something else entirely. I wish I could use this every wash but it's strongggg. Will repurchase forever because nothing compares. If I could only have one mask, it would be this.
- Senscience Inner Restore Intensif: Damn, this is buttery AND concentrated. I need the least amount of product because it's so strong and a little goes a long way. I like to rotate this because it is heavy and it's hard to dose, but it really revitalises my hair. It doesn't leave my hair as silky as Therapiste, but it does make my hair look like it's reversed to it's natural state without damage. Heavy tho.
- L'oréal Gold Quinoa: It's fine really. The best one from the whole range I've tried, but not as good as Therapiste and therefore I won't repurchase. I will use it up though, but I wish it was as softening and sealing as Therapiste.... Argh, that one just raised the bar too high.
To be honest here I'm not sure I want to try anything else because I just love Therapiste so much lol but I might try Force Architec or Extensioniste, or one of the Bonacure ones just to rotate.
Leave-in
- L'oréal Liss Unlimited: This worked pretty well for frizz, and was a godsend for when my hair was dry and I was starting out in my salon haircare journey. Now that my hair has improved a lot more due to better masks, it is too heavy and I feel like it left my hair a bit stiff and not as bouncy as I now want it to be. I've used it up and won't repurchase. This is better for frizz control than Olaplex nr.6 imo.
- Kérastase Nectar Thermique: It leaves my hair looking like silk and extremely shiny and straight when I use this to blow-dry or straighten my hair. I probably will repurchase because I like it so much, although I'm curious about the one from the Discipline and Magistral range. It does not work well if you air dry because it's heat activated.
I have the new L'oréal Pro Longer leave-in waiting at home to try because it was compared pretty well to NT and some said it was better, and also worked without heat and we'll see. I'm still curious about Sebastian Potion 9, L'Anza Trauma and Healing Smooth.
Oils
- Sebastian Dark Oil: This is real good, but it's thiiiick. It will seal your hair and tame the frizz like nothing else, but it's super heavy. Since I use a lot of good products now, it's not as necessary to me but still one of the best I've tried.
- L'Anza Neem Silk Serum: My friend kindly sent me a biiig decant of this. It's lighter than the other two and works well but I do prefer heavier products because they tame my hair more, but this really works well for my dryness and leaves my hair light and soft.
- Kérastase Elixir Ultime: My favorite so far, it's not as heavy but it's still enough to seal my hair, make it silky and soft, shiny and diminish frizz. It leaves my hair bouncy and completely absorbs :)
I want to try Davines Oi Oil next just because I heard so much about it, otherwise I'll stay with Elixir Ultime.

As my last conditioner I use a Paul Mitchell one. Either, the mirrorsmooth conditioner from the Awapuhi Wild Ginger line. Or the one from the marulaoil series. I also have the mask of that series, but in combination with the conditioner it's a bit too much. When I put them on, I can feel the hair start to detangle right away.

I don't use this type of products usually, but I recently bought two Bed Head products on sale: the resurrection mask and the recovery conditioner. For now I've only used the mask. It's very thick, I need to mix it with some water to distribuite it into my hair (it took me some washes to understand this) but I like it! But I expected it was heavier. I'd like to try all the line one day!

You’d probably love the conditioner then! It’s the same product but less concentrated and spreads a lot better (also, 750ml for the same price!).

I love Kérastase too, it is by L'Oréal, and even "just" their drugstore line, man... you (general you) really should check that out if you can, at least once. Their masks are a-mazing! I particularly like the Elsčve line (called Elvive almost everywhere else). They have tons and tons of shampoos, especially like the clay one (pastel green bottle).
But anyway, onto the pro-stuff. My dad for years had the anti-dandruff line, and loved it to bits. He has SD like me, and this worked really well for him.
Also like Davines, on the whole. Only mentioning brands that I like on the whole. Can't go wrong with anything of theirs either!
That's about the extent of my more expensive taste. ;)

My only experience with professional haircare products (I think) has been for braiding so I guess this note would fall under the category of "Styling Aid". I've tried both Oscar Blandi Braid Paste and Redken Braid Aid 03. The Redken prodcut is more like a gel which I prefer but its "fragrance" is very intense and long-lasting, definitely unsuitable for a guy. BTW I'm not a professional :p

Yeah I agree, In my experience Elseve is still the best available in the drugstore but still doesn't really compare to me. I even see such a big difference between L'oréal Pro. and Kérastase that my god... :'). They sell this shampoo here in South America that is for greasy roots and dry ends that I think you'd like. My scalp was really clean with it.
Which shampoo from the dandruff line did your father use? The Specifique one? :)
I have never tried anything from Davines but I'm dying to. I need to get my hands on some small bottles or travel sizes bc I'm curious about so much!

Both are amazing! The jumbo duo is sooo worth it, I think you'll like it :)

Finally managed to get to my most recent haul! The shampoo is simply amazing. I was having a pretty blad flare up of Sebderm (redness, sebum balls, itching, flakes, scales, you name it...) and I washed with it three times to really clean my scalp and left the product on for 3 min. Oh god... I only have a bit of flakes left but everything else is gone and my hair was not dried out at all. I'm speechless.
The wet detangler is also amaaaaazing (thank you for the recc, lapushka!). It also offers a great scalp massage. I'm in love :)

We can get tigi bedhead at the supermarket here I should add it to my collection one day but I got so many to use up first
So far I like joico's clarifying shampoo the moisture recovery range and the cuticle sealer
I also have olaplex range I've tried the oil and the number 3, which has helped a little I have others to try in the range it's in my huge stash ( huge to me anyway)
My ultimate favorite so far is the redkin frizz dismis, my hair always feels super silky and it reduces my frizz it's pretty thick the conditioner
.my only issue is the bottle, it's quite hard and you need like two hands to squeeze the thing
It's Interesting that Joico moisture recovery was too heavy I thought it was pretty light
I don't like the Joico K-Pak reconstructor it didn't do much and I didn't enjoy it's vomit looking consistently, it did smell great though if you like bubblegum
Edit: I ended up buying some things bad bat!
Kérastase Resistance Therapiste Masque
Kerastase Elixir Ultime Masque
Redken Frizz Dismis Rebel Tame Leave in
L'Oréal Professionnel Liss Unlimited Smoothing Masque
Redken Extreme Megamask
Fanola Nutricare Restructuring Mask+( it was on sale for $14 and it's 500ml so I got it)
RPR Straighten Me Out (200ml and under $5)
My orders came with freebies
Kemon Actyva Disciplina Shampoo and Mask 30ml Duo
Redken One United 30ml

Bat, have you tried Redken One United before, or are you gonna try it soon? I would like know what you think about it! Or anyone else, of course, I just saw you mention it.
I'll update this thread with my professional products when I have energy, but I can say that I really like Redken but haven't been particularly impressed by Kerastase or Joico.

Great Bat! Cuticle sealer sounds really interesting, might be something for me, I need to check it.
Ĺh, I love freebies :)
I use all possible products, drugstore, salon, herbal and I like to test new products...
So these are my professional products, at least I think they are. Sorry if I have posted something that's not.
- Redken: All soft shampoo: It's really nice and have luxurious feeling. It has dimethicone as a third ingredient(!) and my hair usually just don't like coney shampoos (though I can and need to have them in other products) but this is totally fine. I still use it mostly for lengths, but my scalp really doesn't mind.
- Redken: All soft conditioner: I actually used this up recently, but I think I mention it anyway. I had the mask too. This was very hard to get out of the bottle, seriously! Otherwise this and the mask were ok products, but nothing more.
- Redken: extreme CAT-treatment: I use this occasionally. My hair seems to benefit of protein, so it's handy to have.
- Redken: Extreme Anti-snap leave-in: I like this one so much! I was without it a while and I really missed it. Works great in both wet and dry hair/ direct after wash or between washes.
- Redken: All soft argan-6 oil: The first ever coney serum that actually works for me. Impossible to overdose.
- Redken: All Soft Mega Mask: I saw some reviews saying it was too heavy, why I bought it. Well, it's not too heavy. I was expecting more.
- Redken: Frizz Dismiss Conditioner: Wow, this stuff is magic! Might be the best conditioner ever. Rich and detangling and little goes a long way, which usually is not the case with my conditioning products. But pretty hard to get out of the bottle... I'm curious about this line.
- Matrix: Shine Rinse Lamellar Treatment: My first product of that kind. Makes a real difference, I'm really pleased. And I need so little. But that tiny cap is just a bad joke, it's not fun!
- Joico: Moisture Recovery shampoo
- Joico: Moisture Recovery conditioner: These 2 are huge bottles I have had since the end of 2018 and they are just bit boring. Not bad, but nothing to rave about. All my drugstore products do the same thing.
- Joico: K-Pak clarifying shampoo: This is harsh! I use it very rarely. But the smell, it's fantastic. Probably the best smelling hair product I ever have had. Do you know if they have any other products with this same smell?
Then I have had those Joico K-pak something deep penetrating protein mask and some hydrating mask and they weren't bad, but they weren't that extraordinary either...
I can't remember what I had from Kerastase, some cleaning condition and something more. I remember that I needed crazy amounts of that stuff...

I have some minor problems with my hands, maybe because they're hypermobile and some angry joints. I think I have the strength, but using it, well, that's another story...
I probably don't need the clarifying shampoo, we have super soft water and I use SLS shampoos often enough. And I don't do that heavy oiling either, and I usually have some conditioner first to get oils and butters out. Then my hair is very dry and fragile, even when virgin, has always been. And it's super absorbent and fluffy, there's never products that are heavy enough.
Redken had some split end sealer which I liked too, but I haven't been able to find it anymore.

Personally I haven't thought about it. I read it was their most moisturising line. I can't say I don't have frizz, but I really don't think about it... But when I used it together with lamellar water and that megasoft mask, it actually made my hair super smooth, I couldn't recognise it. It was straightish, but in a good way. Otherwise it can dry very curly if I just let it be.

The lamellar water is an acidic treatment so I can see how it worked super well, especially if you had any porosity going on. I swear by those! Thank you, I’ll put it in my wishlist!

So, I’m really impressed. It’s not a nourishing mask for me, but the weight it gives is amazing for the repairing treatment it gave on my hair. Solved the frizz, dryness and porosity issue I had going on as well. I had leave it on for 5min, and a little went a long way! It was amazing for detangling and felt super buttery. My hair feels soft and there’s barely any frizz, so it’s a pretty sealing result. I didn’t even need to use my silicone oil to make it feel smooth and silky. Also it dried pretty straight and smooth which I like. So... It’s approved and it’s going in my repairing mask rotation for now. Is it better than Therapiste? No, but it is second best so far out of everything else and I like to rotate.
Can’t wait to try Satin Oil now! :)

I have to put a bowl in a sink and use two hands to squeeze it in then goop it in my hair, I hope the new bottles will be better
I have the mask, but if I see a travel size of the conditioner around I'll have to try that one as well!
I'm convinced :D please to let me know how it goes with the leave-in!
I willllll

The lamellar water is an acidic treatment so I can see how it worked super well, especially if you had any porosity going on. I swear by those! Thank you, I’ll put it in my wishlist!
So interesting. I know for fact that I have quite a high porosity hair, even my virgin hair. (I have same damage left in the ends). I don't see this discussed so often, it seem that only the low porosity people are interested to discuss porosity.

My hair is also naturally high porosity! Main reason why it can look so dry and frizzy even though I take care of it so much (the treatments don’t stick to the hair because the pH is so raised). My favorite acidic treatment is the Joico Cuticle Sealer one though! I can buy 1L for 30€ and that’s a lot better on my wallet.

Pisinoe made me a capillary schedule that requires me to wash my hair 3 odd times a week so I think it's once every third wash day?

Ah, interesting Bat! I have always felt that this capillary thing just requires too much brain power, ha ha! Have you followed it a long time? What do you think you think about it?
I went and ordered that cuticle sealer, because my hair seriously needs all the help it can get. I have been quite down about it. I finally reached BSL at the beginning of this year and I had plans to reach waist, but no. I just have to trim all the growth, I have so much splits, and once a mont is not even enough, so I should probably just give up and go back to APL. And then I had this new she'd too, and I haven't recovered from the one before either...

Once every two weeks because my hair is much healthier now :) if it's dried out due to other factors, then once a week, but that's not the case right now. (My hair is not bleached, colored etc.)

The capillary schedule is actually super easy to do, you just need to choose specific products to rotate and have the right stash! If you are interested, I could also help you building you a routine with what you have and then you can see if it works for you or not.
Do you use leave-in and silicone oils? I only managed to grow my hair this long without any splits because of the capillary schedule (and masking three times a week at least) and the LCO method. Before that it would reach BSL and I'd chop back to APL every single time because of the ends as my hair is naturally porous and dry. I think you can "save" the length with the right routine.

Oh pisinoe! I would really love that help! :blossom:
But don't feel obligated or stress over it!
My washing routine is something like conditioner/mask before shampoo and then at least two conditioners/masks after. I do use silicones, mostly in conditioners/masks and leave ins, and I always use leave in after wash and often oils or butters in the ends between washes.
You can see my products in this blogg post:
https://forums.longhaircommunity.com/entry.php?b=141814
It's probably not that easy to navigate, though, because I just wanted to track what I'm buying and using up. I have some oils and butters that are not listed there.

I really enjoy doing this so it's no bother at all, no worries! Good that you already do CWCC, I do it as well and swear by it. You have a really nice selection of products imo, if you wanted to buy some new ones I'd suggest only more specific masks but that's it. Still, let's work with what you have :D
I don't know how often you wash your hair, but these are the three different washes I recommend (you can wash more often ofc, just follow the sequence):
Hydration
Pre-poo: oil and/or conditioner/mask you'r not fond of
Shampoo: Redken All soft shampoo
Mask: Redken All Soft Mega Mask
Conditioner: Redken: Frizz Dismiss conditioner
Leave-in: Aussie Miracle Moist Recharge Hair Conditioner Spray
Oil: Redken All soft argan-6 oil
Nourish
Pre-poo: oil and/or conditioner/mask you'r not fond of
Shampoo: Joico Moisture Recovery shampoo
Mask: Avon: Advance Techniques Supreme Oils hair mask + Avon: Advance Techniques Supreme Oils leave in spray if needed
Conditioner: Joico Moisture Recovery conditioner
Leave-in: Aussie Miracle Moist Recharge Hair Conditioner Spray + Cantu: Grow Strong Strengthening Treatment
Oil: Redken All soft argan-6 oil
Repair
Pre-poo: oil and/or conditioner/mask you'r not fond of
Shampoo: Redken All soft shampoo
Mask: Redken Extreme Anti-Snap Treatment + All Soft Mask or Matrix: Shine Rinse Lamellar Treatment
Conditioner: Redken: Frizz Dismiss conditioner
Leave-in: Aussie Miracle Moist Recharge Hair Conditioner Spray + Redken Extreme Anti-Snap Treatment
Oil: Redken All soft argan-6 oil
You can ofc use the medicated shampoos as needed, and clarify when you see the need to. This is just a draft, if you have any remarks or corrections, definitely let me know! If you find the Repair routine to be too strong, you can do it every fourth wash and then do your favorite (either Hydration or Nourish) a second time before it.

Wow, thank you so much pisinoe! :crush:
I can't wait to get started.
I would really like to know what masks you do recommend. At some point I will be purchasing new masks anyway.
I'm so happy I learned CWCC here, before LHC the idea of putting conditioner to my hair before shampoo would never had occured to me. I always use some products I don't like as first C. Most often the problem is the smell, not the performance itself...
When I use medicated shampoos, I use them only for my scalp, I protect ends with some heavy stuff and then usually wash lengths with something else, so I don't think it will interfere that much. Ketoconazole shampoo just seems to help me with shedding though I don't have any scalp issues (have seen a dermatologist for this).
I ordered the Joico Cuticle sealer. In wich wash should I use it, when it arrives?
Nowadays I wash my hair 2-3 times a week, I might be able to wash less, but I enjoy washing my hair, and I just need to wash it if I take a shower or bath. When it's hot and I sweat a lot I do wash every day.
I think we might have a capillary thread here somewhere...? Because I know I first heard about this here at LHC. I should take look.

S&D always make me to trim my growth, because there's so much... I shouldn't look at my ends. And yet my hair is better than never before, and it has never been that long, so this is something. I'm just afraid, that if I trim to APL, then after a week it will be full of splits anyway. There is splits in my short face framing layers, and there's mid-shaft splits, and shorter ends and it's just a mess...

These are the masks I recommend for each type (I haven't tried them all, but plan to, but among hair enthusiasts they are also well-loved and known). I usually find them for much cheaper on notino, allbeauty, lookfantastic (only when there's %), beautyplaza... :)
Hydration: Wella Brilliance, Redken All Soft (you already have it, woohoo!), Sebastian Penetraitt, Schwarzkopf Moisture Kick, Kérastase Chromatique Thick, Kérastase Genesis
Nourish: Kérastase Magistral/Masquintense Thick/Oleo-relax/Elixir Ultime, Moroccanoil Smooth, Keune Satin Oil, Loreal Mythic Oil, Alfaparf Semi di Lino Nutritive, Lee Stafford Arganoil, Orofluido Asia Zen Control, Wella Nutri Enrich
Repair: Kerastase Therapiste, Schwarzkopf BC Bonacure Repair Rescue Deep Nourishing, Senscience Inner Restore Intensif, Keune Vital Nutrition, Loreal Absolut Repair Gold Quinoa
If I were you, to start, I'd try Wella, Schwarzkopf or Alfaparf at first because those are cheaper. From there on you can see if your hair actually needs something with more intensity/technology. I'm a bit more extra, and rotate both for maintenance and deep treatment.
I also heard about CWCC here. I used to do oil before shampoo and hated how it felt and how hard it was to wash off but conditioner just works much better!
When the cuticle sealer arrives, use it with the wash you find that gives you less weight. Usually it's the hydration one. You apply it after shampoo, coat the hair with it, leave it on for 5 min, rinse and do a mask for another 5min. You can skip the conditioner if it makes your hair too heavy. :)
There is indeed a thread but I think it's more the American view of it for some reason, not the one we actually follow in Brazil!

Oh man I'm the same way! Forever waiting for that good % code at notino and LF now XD
I didn't think anything could wear my hair down either until I tried Joico Luster Lock and Moisture Recovery masks. It was not a good look. My hair looked greasy yet hay-like. Ah, and Shea Moisture Manuka Honey Mask. That one is for extremely dry hair only (my mom loves it!)

Well, that's interesting, some more to add to my list, lol. I think Joico Moisture Recovery mask was that one I had. Was it the combination that was too much?
I sometimes oil heavily, and then have not energy to wash, so I let it be bunned, and when I finally take it down, it's ok again.

No, both alone were too heavy. I had to pass them on because I couldn't even bear to use them up. My hair doesn't seem to like masks heavy on the oils AND protein. No idea why exactly, it just looks gross afterwards so I tend to avoid those now.
Ahhh that hasn't happened to me in a long time. Probably because my hair only absorbs so much before it looks sticky :ponder:. It's always a fine line between looking like a poodle that went to war and cow-licked hay.

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/801610826016096261/834855080523202611/image0.jpg
Not sure how I feel about it yet, but I'm not too impressed. To me it did give a hydrating result (soft, lightweight shiny hair) and it wasn't too frizzy but I do prefer my hair to look a bit more sealed. I think I have some left to try for another wash, and I'll use conditioner next time to see how it goes. It's a good maintenance mask though, far better than L'oréal Inforcer, Curl Contour, Liss Unlimited, Wella Fusion and even the Sebastian Dark Oil one. Glad I got a sample :)
Next wash I will try the Keune Satin Oil.
Edit: My hair already feels a bit lackluster tbh. Not good enough for my standards. Ugh why must my hair love expensive things only lol

Like the Vital Nutrition mask, this is suuuuuuuper concentrated and conditioning. I only needed to use a small (!) amount for my as of right now very long hair, and it was amazing at softening and detangling my hair very fast. I left it on for around 5 min, and when I washed it off my hair felt super heavy and thick but it wasn't weighed down at all when it dried. My hair feels super nourished and the dryness is nowhere to be seen. I wouldn't say it is amazing for frizz control as it doesn't leave my hair super sealed, but it just feels so soft and healthy now, I love it :). I'm glad to have bought this, I think with a good conditioner it will be perfect.
Next wash will be the Wella Brilliance Mask for hydration.
Also, sadly, ever since I recovered my sense of smell due to covid, my taste has changed too. I don't think I like the smell of Elixir Ultime anymore :(. I think I'll have to look for something else, as though it isn't too strong, it does linger and it makes me uncomfortable... I'm eyeing the Davines Oi Oil, but I'll wait for a good sale.

I agree, Bri-chan! Thank you!
.
Today I tested Wella Brilliance and it was better than I expected. Very good at detangling, and hydrating the hair, although I had to use a bit more than the others I've been testing to spread it evenly throughout my hair and coat it. I left it on for 10min, and when I rinsed it out my hair felt super soft. As it dried it felt soft too, but not silky smooth. It does nothing for controlling volume in my opinion, but it will help tame frizz to a certain extent, as in the hair doesn't look poofy or dried out. I do look like I have a lot of hair right now, which I guess is good haha, but I prefer my hair to be silkier and more sealed :). It makes the hair VERY shiny though, which is the main result it offers anyway! I don't think I'll be buying it in full size because it makes my ends look meh but it was nice to try.

I'm wondering, when I run out of my Redken All Soft Argan oil coney serum, maybe I want to try something else, maybe something from Kerastase? Because I like to test new products (a bit too much). It's just that this is the first coney serum that actually has worked for me and my hair likes... But it's the first coney serum from a professional brand too. Maybe they're just overall better?
I have the leave in now :3 frizz dismiss is great my hair feels soft and fluffy and still shiny
Aaah! I really might need it.

I do think they are 'overall better, indeed. Simply because they make my hair look nicer for *days*, and I do see a big difference in treatment vs just 'beautifying' (I have no split ends at all). They do both. Personally, I really like the Elixir Ultime, but I cannot vouch for it anymore because I absolutely detest the smell now XD. In comparison to Sebastian Dark Oil, which is for very very dry/frizzy hair as it's quite heavy (but it REALLY controls that frizz lol!), it's a lot lighter and I think easier to dose and use. I should receive my Davines Oi Oil sometime soon, hopefully by next week, and from comparison reviews that one is said to offer more treatment for dry/porous hair while still being lightweight and making the hair super soft. Orofluido and L'oréal Mythic oil I found both meh. The Barbary Fig one by Schwarzkopf was pretty decent, but it's quite heavy. Lately I've also seen good reviews for the Kérastase Blond Absolu Cica Oil, my friend said it has a more citrusy smell and she thinks it's the best one (Elixir Ultime is like annoyingly sweet). I've also heard good things about Alfaparf Prickly Pear & Orange but haven't tried it, or the Moroccanoil one (I tried it once at a friend's but cannot remember).
My favorite Kérastase products so far are the Bain Riche Dermo Calm for shampoo (I have sebderm and super sensitive scalp, and ultra dry hair, and this is a true miracle for both issues, I think it's doing wonders for my porosity!), Kérastase Thérapiste Mask, Nectar Thermique for when I use my blowdrying brush (the hair looks like glass, ahh!) and I also like the Thérapiste Shampoo a lot. I'd include the Elixir Ultime in that but I can no longer stand the scent, and it's amazing but not good enough to make me look past that.
I really want to try more stuff though, it's just amazing for my hair and I do think it's worth the experience. Is it worth full price? Absolutely not, to me nothing is, so I only buy when there's like at least 20% sale on everything in the cheapest place possible lol.

Thank you for your answer pisinoe!
And I'm so sorry for your problems with sense of smell!
I have now done a full wash cycle with the capillary schedule and I already feel better about my hair, really. I think it's time for me to give a chance for more professional hair care, because everything else has failed so far.
I have noticed huge price differences between the webshops but it seems to be possible to always find a sale somewhere, yay.

The nose wants what it wants! Yeah...
And yaaay, I'm so glad it's working for you! In a month there should be even more noticeable difference, I hope it keeps only getting better from now on! I refused to use professional products for years because I kept thinking "how is this basic ingredients list any better than drugstore stuff?" but % amount, quality, formulation and technology simply isn't written in a list to read easily.
And yep, browsing websites helps a lot!! I always wait for a sale too to add on top, if possible. And then they last ages because you need a lot less product. :D

Ok, I've used the Bed Head antidotes recovery conditioner for the first time today, as second conditioner for my usual WCC. I was impressed about the quantity I needed, I mean less than half of other conditioners... Next wash I'll try it without the first conditioner to see how effective it is by itself. But, overall, I think that 200 ml will last me much longer than I expected.

I have a soft spor for professional haircare but I tested only few products in the past. I had L'Oréal Professionel Absolut Repair shampoo and mask, and their Curl Contour line as well.
Also tested Redken Curvaceous line once in 2015 I think... and then I dropped it.
I am tempted sometimes to get something... but I have always to read the label first...
I wish I could go ahead and get myself something from Kerastase but the prices frighten me.
I also have a few products from Sacha Juan ( Swedish professional brand) on my wishlist.
We'll see...

Kérastase will be releasing a new line soon, Curl Manifesto, and the main ingredients will be Manuka Honey and Ceramides, the range is quite complete. You might wait to look into it.
Wella also has a curly and naturals friendly line, which is a loooottt more affordable to start with, so that might be more interesting right now to look up, perhaps? 😊

Hey I'm not too familiar with professional hair care products but I'd like to know. How is the Redken all soft shampoo and conditioner? The price is a little up there for me, but if I can find a product that's worth it, I'd like to try. I'm looking for something suitable for dry, tangle prone, frizzy hair. What I use right now is Dove's intensive repair duo but I feel it might be a little too heavy for me. It makes my hair feel soft after the first day, but I always deal with dry, frizzy hair that knots more the longer I go without washing and I'm not sure if it's because I haven't found the right product, or if it has to do with my hair type. A leave in or mask suggestion would be nice too

I received the redken all soft conditioner as a gift from a friend. I'll be honest, I didn't notice much difference compared to cheaper conditioners but I've never found a conditioner that does anything special to my hair anyway. I seem to need to use quite a lot of the conditioner to cover my hair and you don't get much in the bottle for the price IMO.
The only thing that makes a difference to my hair is mineral oil. The redken conditioner doesn't weigh my hair down and I don't notice any fizziness/static or tangling, so it might be worth it for you. I use mineral oil 6 drops between s+c and I've been experimenting with 1-2 drops post washing too which is the only thing I've found that moisturizes my hair for longer than a day.

I have only the mask, and I really like it. I do find that I see better results when I leave it on for 15-25min, instead of just 5. It has a really good effect on my hair. In the BR haircare community, a lot of people like the shampoo and it's said to be good at cleansing but also moisturising. One of my friends likes the conditioner as well but I haven't tried either myself. As far as I know, this range is for normal to dry hair and isn't too heavy. From your hair stats, I think it could work for you. Redken is the second best brand in terms of technology from the L'oréal Corp. ranges, just after Kérastase, so I think it's safe to try. I really wish they would bring back the Smooth Lock line, that was absolute perfection...

I want to wash my hair again today because I tried the Lee Stafford Argan Oil Mask yesterday and I left it on too long because I was doing post-bleach treatments on my mom's hair. So... My hair is over-moisturised today I guess. But I think I'll wait until tomorrow since I'm not going anywhere anyway, and will clarify then do a protein treatment.

All the Frizz Dismiss products have now arrived (still waiting for some other stuff), and I think I might try them all tomorrow (I was a bit tempted to wash my hair straight away just to test, but... no energy).
BUT I tried a little bit of the leave in in my dry hair, and oh wow wow, this stuff really is magic, it made my hair feel super fantastic, smooth and soft.

I have only tried the Davines Oi Oil so far because I'm a giggly schoolgirl about hair products and I don't like the smell (baby powder) but it's not offensive. And it's GREAT for porosity! Had some frizz going on when I took down my sleep bun and brushed the waves and it made my hair look amazing straight away! Great for porosity and not oily at all. I'll try to take a before/after picture next time!

Wow! Yeah, I can see the excellent results it did on your hair! :D

So, I purchased a lot of new products. And I'm going to stay away from shopping a good while now, honestly, I promise.
Here is what I got, copied from my blog, and I didn't have energy to remove the Swedish prices...
- Kérastase: Elixir Ultime L´Huile Originale (100ml; 230 SEK)
- Kérastase: Nutritive 8h Magic Night Serum (90ml; 284 SEK)
- Redken: One United (150ml; 133 SEK)
- Redken: Frizz Dismiss Mask (250ml; 167 SEK)
- Redken; Frizz Dismiss Rebel Tame leave in (250ml; 194 SEK)
- Redken: Frizz Dismiss Shampoo (300ml; 164 SEK)
- Wella Professionals: Fusion Mask (500 ml; 234 SEK)
- Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Leave-in Treatment Set (Shampoo 300 ml, Conditioner 300 ml, Leave-in 150 ml; 558 SEK)
I even bought an Aquis hair turban (Classic Stretch in blue), which I didn't list in my blog, because I consider it as a different kind of purchase. But it's very nice and it came with 2 surprise silk scrunchies (blue and off white) which were very, very welcome.
I really like the Frizz Dismiss line, all the products are rich and slippery and a little goes a long way. I really liked how detangling the shampoo is, and hair still stays nice and fresh.
Kérastase Elixir Ultime oil is nice, I actually like it more than Redken's All Soft oil which I was happy with. This one has somehow better formula, I think it does more, it's slippery and my hair absorbs it very well. The smell is quite faint. I don't know if the Night serum does anything, but at least DH likes the smell.
I have used Wella Fusion masks only once, but it felt great, rich and slippery.
The Acidic Bonding set arrived today (I wasn't planning to get it yet, but... There were an extra discount...) and it was almost mind blowing experience. I took a shower, didn't had any pre-poo treatments, used only the shampoo and conditioner in shower and leave in afterwards, and my hair feels and looks amazing. It's shiny and silky with nice curls and even my colour looks great.
It's really concentrate, I didn't need much, and the shampoo was very detangling itself. Hair felt sleek in the shower.
But, there's a warning for sun burn(!) because it contains, um... AHA. The warning is for skin, but I'm wondering if it applies for the hair too, could it make hair more prone to photo bleaching? I have no idea... Anyone?
Then, the big question: where do these products belong in the capillary schedule, what kind of products are these?

Very nice choice of products!
To answer your question of what kind of products these are for the capillary schedule...
- Kérastase: Elixir Ultime L´Huile Originale (100ml; 230 SEK): sealant / finalizer
- Kérastase: Nutritive 8h Magic Night Serum (90ml; 284 SEK): repairing leave-in treatment, you can use it at night before going to bed to protect the hair
- Redken: One United (150ml; 133 SEK): hydrating/nourishing leave-in
- Redken: Frizz Dismiss Mask (250ml; 167 SEK): nourishing mask
- Redken; Frizz Dismiss Rebel Tame leave in (250ml; 194 SEK): hydrating/nourishing hydrating leave-in
- Redken: Frizz Dismiss Shampoo (300ml; 164 SEK): hydrating shampoo
- Wella Professionals: Fusion Mask (500 ml; 234 SEK): hydro-repairing mask
- Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Leave-in Treatment Set (Shampoo 300 ml, Conditioner 300 ml, Leave-in 150 ml; 558 SEK): hydrating line that is acidic
Very good choice of products overall to be honest. I'm glad you have had a good experience with them so far! Now I want that Acidic Bonding line too :D. You don't need to worry about sunburn with AHA in your hair products. If those are in shampoos, they exfoliate the scalp only. If it's on leave-on products, they help bring the pH down and give a smoothening effect due to the 'acidic' treatment, especially on high porosity hair that is naturally more alkaline. Acids are actually the main ingredients in keratin treatments (and not the keratin itself like it's marketed outside of Brazil lmao), bc they soften the cuticle etc but of course those are different to change the hair structure :)
Where did you buy the Aquis hair turban btw?

I usually use Vegamour, but recently I have been enjoying Redken Acidic Bonding set (shampoo, conditioner and leave in) I also like Redken All Soft and All Soft Mega. I use the All Soft Heavy Cream as a deep conditioner every couple weeks. I also use a ton of Fanola products, mostly the leave in stuff. I like the Leave in Conditioner, 10 Actions Spray, Diamante Puro oil, and the Smooth care protection serum. The fiber fix shampoo and fiber fix bonding mask are also good, I just haven't used them in a while.

MoroccanOil Smooth Mask
Ok, so this is possibly the best nourishing mask I've used yet, that doesn't have a repairing effect as well (those usually make my hair brittle). My hair was amazingly soft and frizz-free, even using it wavy! It was a bit harder to spread because it truly is like butter and it doesn't melt the hair right away but I let it on for 15 min and afterwards my hair was sooooo soft! Then today I tried the Orofoluido Asia Zen Mask to compare, and I don't like it as much. It's fine, really. But doesn't do that much for frizz and dryness. Glad I just got a 40ml sample. I like the smell but won't purchase a bigger size.
I even blow dried for 5min to dry it completely which is usually more forgiving but my hair just doesn't look as good as I like it to. Putting it in a twisted bun now with some Davines Oi Oil usually helps.

Do you have an exact link? I kinda want one now too that they're -30% off, but I also want the extra satin scrunchies haha! It's always nice to treat oneself, especially when it's worth it :)
Welcome! :cheer:
I also like Redken All Soft mask! Can't wait to try the acidic line :)
I went to look for it, but it's sold out now, so I couldn't link to it, but it was the bright blue one (Aquis Classic Stretch Turban - Blue): https://www.lookfantastic.com/elysium.search?autocomplete=searchsuggestion&search=aquis%20hair%20turban
I don't know this brand so well, so I don't know if the scrunchies are included only with this model or if they always do so...
I have been wearing the white scrunchie a lot, and usually I don't even like white. I decided I will use them every night too because I suppose they're extra gentle.

I thought it would get heavy because it felt so smooth and took longer to dry but it was just amazing! I looooooooove it!!!!

Yesterday I used the Davines Love Smoothing Conditioner! And I gotta say, it's sooo thick and buttery, feels exactly like a mask! I never had to use so little conditioner before in my life lol!
Results-wise... It also felt like a mask on my hair. Not as good as my best ones, which frankly I can't ask for that, but it controlled my frizz and dryness super well. And sealed the hair so it doesnt look porous either! I don't have good pics but i took this one by the window today and you can check the result:

The big size is so expensive though. I'll have to wait for a gooood sale. No way Im paying 77€ for it lol. If I can get it for 40-50€ I can live with that.

I also like Redken All Soft mask! Can't wait to try the acidic line :)
The acidic line is great! Leaves hair strong and the ph balanced formula lays the cuticle perfectly flat and glossy. I would just say to not use it every wash because the cones build up a bit. I use it maybe once every couple weeks for the bonding and strengthening, but I use the leave in every wash only on my ends. Keeps them buttery smooth

I used to use professional products when my hair was a bleached and colored mess and my favorites were by far from Pureology! Their Hydrate line was so lovely, my hair was completely frizz free. I also loved Redken Frizz Dismiss but mostly for the scent. As a teenager I loved Kerastase, especially their Oleo Bain shampoo and the blow dry cream (Nectar Termique).
Last summer I tried little sample sizes of the Davines Love line and neither the shampoo nor conditioner really did anything for me. They just smelled really good. But I‘m so tempted to try the Davines Volume shampoo.

I avoid lines for curly hair because they are usually designed for needs of dry hair with higher porosity, and contain oils, butters and silicones.
My hair is only wavy, low porosity and easily weighed down so I don't fancy getting greasies:D

I guess I've dipped my toe into this arena recently -- I am interested in trying heat/UV protectants and got a recommendation for one from Joico so I ordered that and threw in a couple other things as well.
- Joico Defy Damage Protective Shield
- Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Heat/UV Protective Primer
- Redken Extreme Length Conditioner
I think those count as "professional" hair care? I would have just called them "fancy."
I got the package from Ulta in the mail today. I haven't tried them yet but I like to test out the consistency and smell before putting it on my hair. I am not a huge fan of the Joico smell and it seems a little heavy for what I want but the other two I'm hopeful about.
If I've misunderstood and these products don't belong in this thread then boot me out by all means LOL. I'm usually all drugstore all the way so this is pretty new to me.

Bumble & Bumble UV/heat protectant spray, I am not so impressed. My hair was tanglier than usual even after I layered my usual serum over it. :( Maybe because it has so many natural oils and fewer silicones? It did smell good, might give it another chance at some point.
Trying the Redken Extreme Length conditioner next, probably on Tuesday. :)

My two cents! :)
So I'm fairly new to professional haircare, and the main issue is that a lot of awesome things just aren't available or easily accessible in my country. That is slowly changing, but I still usually can't find some recommendations.
What I love about professional haircare is the fact that the products usually last forever. In my opinion, pays off way more than piling, and buying like five mediocre or straight up bad drugstore products.
Since my budget is veeery limited, I've only bought masks and heat protectors that'd fall into the professional category - not shampoos and such. I use a generic local shampoo brand, and the conditioner I use is also just to help me detangle. I still mix this with more 'traditional' stuff, like oiling my hair (my mum's Cuban, go figure) and using henna - I enjoy the process of oiling and hennaing my hair and it isn't doing any harm, so why not.
So here are the products I used so far:
Selective Professional Amino Keratin - I wasn't blown away by this one. I think there are much better protein masks in a similar or a bit higher price range.
Selective Hemp Sublime - Oh boy, I love this one! As a lower price range, but still a professional brand, this does a really good job! I love the smell as well, an I bought a serum from the same line recently (haven't opened it yet tho) that seems promising. If you don't need some really heavy duty hydrating masks (like Redken All Soft), this one is for you. It's also good for starting with professional haircare - since it's less of a splurge. Damn, might buy it again soon.
Redken All Soft - Okay so I only had a few tester packets of this one, didn't buy the whole thing yet, because I still haven't spent the mask I'm currently using. But boy is it good! One of the well known top tier masks, and that title is in my opinion very well-deserved. Definitely on my shopping list.
Now for the ones I'm currently using!
Redken Extreme Strength Builder - probably the most recommended protein mask I've heard of. I'll be honest. Since I'm new to all this, I'm still a sucker for instant effects, which is definitely something you'll get from a conditioning/hydrating mask, but not from a protein one. I do think that the time between trims needed is much longer than before using this mask, so I'd say it does it's job really well. On the other hand, I'd also factor in the fact that I'm now giving my hair a better overall care. I'd probably see a bigger difference if I stopped using it, tho.
Revlon Orofluido Mask - A very nice conditioning mask. I'm spending it at such a slow rate that I'm a bit bored of it, to be honest, but it is a great product nonetheless. It's a bit harder to rinse than the, say, Selective Hemp Sublime one, but your hair is very nice and soft after it.
KEUNE Keratin Smoothing 2 Phase Spray - this is actually a product somewhere between the drugstore and professional range. It is very good for the price, does a nice job with detangling and smoothing your hair, and it's a heat protector. I never tried another 'serious' product of this type, but I'm very happy with this one.
Recommendations?
I wanted to ask if someone could recommend an anti-frizz, heavy duty smoothening product. My hair is between weird waves and curls, and I find it easier to manage when I straighten it. It still tend to be frizzy, because the stray hairs wave/curl up. Not sure what kind of product would help. Is there a good straightening cream?

Thanks for the detailed post, LemonadeCandy! I'm starting to be interested in the All Soft line, particularly the "argan" oil (if anyone has tried the oil let me know, I want to get it but there doesn't seem to be a travel size I could try first). I'm hearing a lot about it. I'm new too so no advice on a product that might be good for your issue.
paulownia I hope you tell us how you like it!
I tried the Redken Extreme Length conditioner last wash and while it's not bad I also don't notice much of a difference as opposed to my HE conditioner. I think I might clarify and try it again, in case buildup is a factor. I'll definitely try to use it up either way.

If you're straightening your hair, the best heat-activated smoothening product I've tried so far is the Kérastase Nectar Thermique. I've also heard good things about the Straight balm from Bumble&Bumble. Kérastase Discipline would also be good. Seal it with an oil like the Kérastase Elixir Ultime, or the Sebastian Dark Oil if your hair is very/dry frizzy (this is heavier) or another one. That's how I do mine :). For maintenance I use the L'oréal Pro Longer because I'm a bit lazy to use heat these days and this still does the job. Doesn't leave my hair as sleek and glossy as Kérastase but that one only works with heat.

I tested my Kerastase products today.
Shampoo ( Résistance Bain Extentioniste) is very nice. Foams up in really fluffy suds and cleanses well. Nice, fresh scent, very salon-like. Hair felt somehow thicker when I was rinsing.
The mask ( Spécifique Masque Hydra-Apaisant) is absolutely divine. Consistency - gel/cream, very light. My scalp felt very soothed after it and combing hair was a breeze. Not a single tangle.
My waves dried nicely in loose clumps and turned out great.
Now when hair is completely dry I feel like its gently coated, like slightly waxed but in a positive way. And great shine ;)
I'm very pleased.

Yeah, professional hair care is on another level! Glad you liked it. Kerastase seems to be a bit out of my price range, but I can imagine it's top-notch.
I find it's been very hard to be satisfied with drugstore range products since I started using professional products. It's a different universe.
Right now, I'm on a hunt for some satin pillowcases, but after that I plan on trying new products yet. Will update!

pisinoe, I‘ve been thinking about getting a leave in cream to put into my hair before blow drying recently and I‘m torn between Nectar Thermique and the Pro Longer one. I‘ve used NT before, when I used to give myself at home blow outs, but these days I just blow dry to actually get my hair dry. Sometimes I do kind of „style“ my ends though by blow drying them in an way that makes the curl a little less tight. However, it’s all super minimal, the last time I times myself, it took me 4 minutes to blow dry. Which leave in would you recommend? Would NT even work for me or should I get the Pro Longer?

I find that the Nectar Thermique only really works if you use heat to style your hair, then it truly makes the hair glossy and sleek. Pro Longer is more versatile, it works both ways and gives a similar result (just not as glossy on me personally, but still pretty sleek). I'm not sure if your hair is thick or fine, but Nectar Thermique can look a bit weighed down if you don't dose it well. I think I'd go with the Pro Longer one since it works both ways!
Personally I'm not going to repurchase either right now after trying my mother's Curl Manifesto, and will buy that one next since it works on curly/wavy/air dried hair but also fabulously with heat and leaves the hair just as glossy but more bouncy.

I did! I had covid related hair loss and it was also tangling horribly, so I cut it back to BSL at first because it was stressing me out a lot. I then chopped it back to CBL to get rid of my straightened ends and am starting back with fresh, natural hair :). My hair wasn't TBL though, only hip length. For now my goal is to go back to hip length, not sure if I'll try to grow it to tailbone in the future.

Ok! I'm so sorry you've had covid related hair loss and some horrible tangling. I bet with your hair at hip length and with all of the problems you were having with it was stressing you out a lot. Well, at least you've gotten rid of your straightened ends and are starting back with fresh, natural hair :). Oh, ok. Thank you for correcting me your what your length was before you cut it. I also agree with you that all it was...was hip length too. Because, some people on here would either consider it BCL or TBL. Yeah, when I first joined here at LHC 11 years ago I had set my long-term goal to hip length but a couple of years after that I had extended it to ankle length, or terminal length. If you're not sure if you'll grow it to tailbone in the future just let it grow to whatever makes you happy.

I‘m having a pretty good time with the Pro Longer leave in cream so far, the only thing that’s annoying about it is the packaging (I wish they wouldn’t have done a screw cap because it’s kind of inconvenient). My ends are feeling much softer and happier!
I also got samples of the new or re-packaged Kérastase line for oily scalps and sensitized lengths - whatever that means. The shampoo was nice but nothing out of the ordinary. I still have half a package of their hydrating mask left, which I was really impressed with the first time, as well as their clay cleansing treatment. Right now I‘m all about saving and being frugal, but I do want to try more Kérastase in the future.

My old routine was essentially:
Shampoo - Redken all soft
Conditioner - Redken extreme anti snap
Blow out spray - Redken anti snap leave in spray
Cream - Moroccan Oil Mending Infusion
I bought a bunch of "new" products today that aren't really new to me because I've used them before, but they worked miracles on me a long time ago so I wanted to give them another go!
My new routine will be as follows:
Shampoo - Nounou by Davines
Conditioner - Nounou by Davines
Blow Out Spray - This Is A low Dry Primer by Davines
Cream - Moroccan Oil Mending Infusion
I wouldn't recommend this routine for natural hair types, as it would probably weigh it down extremely. However if you bleach or color using chemicals, it works absolute wonders!

I’m glad you’re enjoying it!! The cap truly is annoying (almost all Kerastase leave-ins are also like that), but I like the product too much to mind… xD

I just ordered a new Redken Frizz Dismiss conditioner, because I don't have so much left of the 500 ml bottle I purchased this spring, and so far this is my favourite conditioner ever. I even purchased their lamellar water, I have wanted to try it really much.
I had the lamellar water from Matrix and is was super good, I really liked it, and it lasted me quite long. Then I decided to try the L'Oréal wonder lengths (or whatever it's called) one, and I'm a bit disappointed, it's not just that good and it's almost gone though I use it in the same frequency.

Oh, can you tell me more about why you like the Redken conditioner so much? It's in my wishlist for black friday! :D

It's rich, so I don't need any crazy amounts and it's very moisturising and detangling and slippery, it doesn't weight down my hair, but my hair feels nice and soft and elastic afterwards. It just does everything you wish a conditioner would do.
The smell is quite strong, and I don't know, maybe a bit masculine, but it disappears after the wash.
Because I liked the conditioner so much I later purchased the shampoo, mask and leave in from the same line, and they are all great, but I use this conditioner even on its own, together with other products. It's very often my last conditioner.
Here it's usually cheaper than the other Redken conditioners too. I have noticed that one webshop had it at a good price, but then the price went up and I freaked out a bit. Then I managed to find it for the same price at another webshop and decided I had to buy it now, because I would do it soon anyway.

Ahhh, sounds perfect for what I want and need :D. I think I can find the 1L bottle for ~30€ during black friday so I'll wait until then (it's 45€ right now), I look forward to it! Thank you for the informative answer! I'm really glad you're enjoying it.

I used the Davines OI conditioner for the first time this week and so far I'm really impressed :) It works much better for me than their white LOVE conditioner did. It's been a while since my last trim and my hair has been a little crunchy recently but the conditioner actually managed to keep it soft and hydrated the whole time until the next wash. The only thing that's bugging me is the scent, which kind of reminds me of the dentist and isn't my fave.

I really like this leave-in! The smell is good, it tames my hair and nourishes it, but it's very lightweight and leaves it bouncy! Works with and without heat and it's a treat to use for everyday! I like it more than my Pro Longer so I won't be repurchasing that! :)

And this duo I absolute loooooooove! It leaves my hair silky smooth and really straight without having to use a lot of heat, plus it doesn't wave or frizz up after a day!

I really like the Kenra Volumizing shampoo and conditioner. They’ve tweaked the formulas over the years and people complain, but so far they’ve worked for me. I love the peach/ nectarine scent:

Today I bought a tube of Kerastase leave-in conditioner (Creme UV Sublime from their Soleil range.) It was reduced from Ł24.99 to Ł16.99 in TkMaxx, they are selling some Kerastase products at the moment so its well worth checking out your local TKMaxx if you have one. I've two stores inside five miles from my home.
So far I love it! It has left my hair soft and easy to comb which is all I was looking for from the product. Also I didn't have to use very much to achieve this effect so this tube should last a long time.
Years ago I used nothing but Kerastase on my hair (I swore by this line) but money woes in my mid-30's meant I had to look for cheaper shampoos, conditioners and oils. Now I am 56 and using silicones once more so I am shopping for Kerastase again.

Has anybody tried Color Wow Dream Coat? I've used the search bar but haven't got any results.
I'm really interested if it truly tames frizzy hair produced by humidity (my biggest problem).

I have! I love it and it really helps with frizz and humidity. With that said, I still use a smoothing leave-in with it. Also, it only works with heat.

Thank you so much for the input! I always blow dry my hair since it takes too long to dry on its own, so this product will be perfect for me :).

Tried the oil already! The bottle is insanely pretty but it has a pretty green scent that reminds me a bit of grass (I hate anything citrusy) which is meh...

But I applied it on one side of my hair (right) after reading so many good reviews and oops, it really everything I read it to be! Seems like it works well to treat porosity, dryness, adds shine and smoothens the hair without weighing it down! :cheer:

Sorry I didn't see this earlier, I haven't been very active! Thank you for the compliment. I would recommend you check out products from Redken since they're very good for the price and way cheaper than Kerastase in Brazil. If you do the capillary schedule with at least 3 different masks, a good maintenance line, clarifying shampoo, and a good quality leave-in with heat protection and a silicone oil you should have more than enough. Check out "Milena Dominic" on youtube, she has a lot more recommendations.
