I have bought and used Kenra Clarifying Shampoo for years. I like the grapefruit scent and how well it works to get rid of hard water residue without overdrying.

I bought a backup last year and went to go open it the other day. It’s a totally different product now. It has harsher sulfates, doesn’t smell like grapefruit, and has weird sparkly stuff. Went online - it’s been totally reformulated.

Does anyone have a similar product they swear by?

This is joining the old Kiss My Face Whenever conditioner (reformulated worse) and the discontinued Giovanni Sunset Styling Lotion as a holy grail hair products that I have also never been able to adequately replace. 😕

Have you at least tried it? Often it's not until you try it that you can actually tell if it's going to work or not.

I just finished up the last drop of my Pantene Clarifying shampoo (discontinued). It was such a lovely shampoo, and yes it was harsh too. But I feel like formula doesn't always tell all, you know. For me, the harsher the better it gets the gunk off (and yes, I need that).

Maybe just give it a go? If you haven't, that is. There is no guarantee that other products will be better, and who knows you may even like this formula better.

Neutrogena came out with some new sulfate free shampoos, one of them is grapefruit. The main cleansing agent is different from your discontinued Kenra Clarifying, but maybe this would be an option?
