Rice water treatment

Anybody else like the way it smells? :laugh: Every so often I peruse rice water tutorial videos just to see if there's a technique I'm missing out on. Everyone always talks about how terrible the fermented rice water smells and it makes me feel like a weirdo, lol!

I like the smell too. I mean, it really doesn't bother me at all. I never understood why people hate the smell. Maybe the difference is the type of rice. I use Jasmine white rice and it smells fine. It's been a while since I've done a rice water rinse, maybe a year. It's a little too drying for me

Do you add the citrus peels as in most of the video tutorials? I've tried it about 3 years ago, I didn't add the citrus plus I let it ferment for a WEEK. The smell was absolutely disgusting, but like, I should have expected that to happen :D never tried it again afterwards.

I once fermented my rice water and it smelled like someone had just thrown up. My brother made me solemly swear to never do it again :lol:
