This is an interesting video featuring the women of the Red Yao Hill Tribe in southern China (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NM5RRnzWI18). They are known for their extraordinarily long hair. Jump to :55 to see their gorgeous hair.

Let's revive this thread! I have been binge watching Youtube videos of the Red Yao women (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwP5GlF0IDM) and their glorious long black hair. Oh how I would love to have an endless supply of natural spring water to rinse my hair like them! I recently bought the Viori Citrus Shampoo Bar inspired by these women and hope it does wonders for my hair. :blossom:

Please let us know how you like the Viori bars.

I've been using their Terrace Garden fragrance for the past couple of weeks. Here's my review in the syndet thread (https://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=151816&page=3&p=3870179&viewfull=1#post3870179).

You are most definitely right! Their hair styles are sooo beautiful! Especially, when you get to 0.55! Thank you for sharing!

I learnt about this culture a number of years ago but never watched this video and couldn't remember the culture name, thanks for sharing! Just to recap the video, hair is sacred to them, they cut it once when they come of age, and combine this cut ponytail with shed hairs from combing when they become mothers, to be used in hairstyles of the different life statuses. Pretty neat. I have to say I do like the headscarf style, I wonder if I could do it myself. I also wonder if their whole culture actually revolves around hair (and what a culture that must be?) or if that's just the side they present to tourism.

I read somewhere they also use hair from previous generations of women in the hairpiece as well, is that my bad memory or is that really a thing?
