I saw Torrinpaige's new hairstyle video, the Sylvia and decided to try a version.

I did it without the french braid and pinning as I wound the braid along the sticks. It turned out somewhat knobby.

That's how I do a spirit bun, except not diagonal and I leave the sticks in.
I do really like the idea of using the sticks to build the style and then pinning and taking them out. I'm a big fan of styles with no visible hair toys.

Goes to look up a spirit bun ... Apparently I tried it when it was a hairstyle of the month and it didn't hold for me. I have found that this version holds very well for me. It has stayed up all day with a minimal amount of poking at pins to readjust for comfort.
