I wonder if anyone here has tried EcoSlay? They are a popular natural small brand in the curly world, but I love one of their products a ton and I’m not curly at all. Just ordered two more during their recent sale and I’m eagerly awaiting the ship notice!
Here are the products I’ve tried:
Orange Marmalade- this is marketed as a curl enhancer but I got it because I like the shine I get from flax seed gel. The hold is too hard for my hair length so I use it to keep my toddler’s flyaways out of her face when we go outside; works great for that but I won’t be repurchasing.
Banana Cream deep conditioner- I love this stuff!! The slip is amazing and the banana scent is very mild. It’s great paired with some heat (I usually just wrap it in plastic wrap and blast it intermittently with my hair dryer for a few minutes at a time over the 30 minutes I have it on because I don’t have a heat cap or hood dryer)
Products coming in the mail soon!
Matcha Boost protein shake- a vegetarian protein treatment
Rice Pudding Leave-in Conditioner- a leave-in made with fermented rice water!
I’d love to hear if anyone else has tried this brand.

ooooh boy. I probably don't need more hair products BUT I'll check it out! :o
eta: I guess I'm easily enabled, but these products look like the type my hair likes! I ordered the banana cream, orange moisturizer, and the jello shot! Will review once I get them.

Well, sorrynotsorry about enabling you lol. I hope you love the BC, it’s such an interesting texture and contains ingredients I’ve never seen before in hair products. Obviously natural products when sourced ethically are better for the planet than conventional stuff, but it’s the intriguing ingredient combinations I am fascinated by.
The only con I will tell you now is to be careful to keep things refrigerated when indicated. I wasn’t careful about putting my BC back in the fridge every time and it grew some mold. I think with this next tub I’ll remove what I need with a clean spoon instead of wet fingers, just to be safe, as it’s a lot of product and I don’t want to trash it.

Oh thanks a ton for the tip! I was hoping dark storage could work since it said 9 months, but I'll do the fridge to be safe. Definitely have experienced this with other natural hair products, wet fingers could also be the culprit there too.

I have had the Orange Marmalade Gel for what seems like forever, and I don't refrigerate it. I really like it. It has nice hold, not too strong for me, but definitely stronger than my homemade flax gel. I liken this to Uncle Funky's Daughter Curly Magic, which I also have had for a long time and alternate when using stylers. I only need a small amount on very wet hair. Works as well as I remember KCCC working-a bit harder hold depending on how much I use. I did get something else from her, but I can't even remember what it was. I used it up, but never thought twice about repurchasing, so I guess I wasn't impressed with it, lol.

I have the banana cream mask and I love it! The slip is amazing and it makes my hair super soft but not weighed down. Unfortunately, it barely has a scent. A little goes a long way but the only downside is that you have to keep all Ecoslay products in de fridge to preserve them.

I finally got to try Rice Pudding conditioner last wash day. It’s called a leave-in conditioner, but I used it as a rinse out, as I am experimenting with not using leave-in humectants these dry days. In any case— I loved it! Unlike many of her other products, it doesn’t smell like food, the jasmine smell is very prominent and the slip is great! I had as easy a time detangling in the shower as I do using my current fav conditioner, Long Hair Don’t Care. The scent didn’t linger after my shower, but perhaps it would if it was used as a leave-in. Looking forward to using it again, and maybe leaving some in, weather depending.

I got my order. So far I've tried the banana mask - I did not look closely at the ingredients (dur) but there must be some kind of protein. It's moisturizing and slipper when applied, but as soon as I washed it out my hair was a dry, frizzy mess. I'll try it as a preshampoo next time.
The Orange marmalade I tried once but honestly don't even remember so I'll have to try it again. It has a creaminess to it that surprised me.

The Banana Cream is definitely protein free, but it does contain coconut if that’s the problem?

I’ve tried their Orange Marmalade before and it actually would be a holy grail product for me if it didn’t eventually flake on me. Also, the owner told me about it being able to hold ones style for a week, but I have never had such luck with this product. I do need to refresh my hair during the week as needed when using any styling product, but with this stuff, it just becomes flake city for me, even though even thing else about this gel I truly love. The product actually took approx. 2 weeks to get two me, however, I certainly do hope that the shipping has gotten a bit faster though. I can’t say that just because I get flaking, to not see you give the product a try, because experiences with any product will vary. The best time to big from Ecoslay is definitely during a really good sale, or even during Black Friday/Cyber Monday, because that’s definitely when Ecoslay rolls out the best deals for sure!

I have no idea. My hair loves coconut oil as a prewash. Even when I tried the mask as a prewash it made my hair like straw once rinsed out. No idea but it may end up in the trash. :(

Orange marmalade had amazing definition, but once my hair dried it flaked like crazy! I get the feeling it's better for wash and goes than braid outs, or maybe I used too much. I hope I can try it again before it expires.

It's ok! I have super picky hair and the most unexpected things end up working for me! I still do love trying new products though :D Plus it's kind of good I don't like them because they'd be expensive to keep stocked up ;)

I got a Banana Cream tester, and my hair is about 60% dry after I tried it. I liked it a lot in the shower, it made my hair feel like seaweed (so that’s good), and it’s curling up good, in ringlets so that’s good too! I’m going to consider buying it, since I love Jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment already and that has preservatives. I’m a bit put off by the lack of preservatives. Oh well, good brain training

I used it again and I liked it way less. The detangling was a nightmare, too much hair came out this time. I still have a bit left, but the slip wasn't great. A shame, but I'm not in love anyway.
