Since we have a mini milestone topic here is the one for major milestones I know we have length specific topics but this one is for any and all Major Milestones I haven't really reached ones I consider major yet but my first Major one for me will be APL as that's the longest my hair will have ever been.

Show pictures too if you like!

I am officially at waist as of September 1, No stretching and not wet. I have been working to this length from bra strap length since 2016. This is my original goal and now I am moving on to classic!

It is everything I wanted and now I am convinced I want to grow it to classic. Here is a picture with an action shot of a small Ficcare clip my husband bought me at the beginning of the month.

My next major milestone will be in springtime, reaching BCL with unstretched hair. This was my first milestone when I started considering to grow my hair.

Strands congratulations! Can I ask how tall are you? We seem to have the same length in inches and it looks longer on me.

Thanks! My husband also mentioned that I am definitely passed waist at this point, lol. Bless his heart for taking this photo for me.

I have some serious tips that have worked for me. For this much growth to have happened since last August I would’ve needed to grow almost 9 inches of hair.

5’6” or 66” tall, my hair was 35 inches when I measured it on September 1.

You and I may both reach BCL in spring!

I consider where I’m at now a major milestone. Tailbone length is the longest I’ve ever had my hair and that’s 39”. I’ve maintained this length many times in my life but it’s exciting realizing that I’m going to have the longest hair I’ve ever had in my sixties. Since I’ve been here I started at Armpit Length and once I hit BSL, I coloured my hair brightly with henna so had to grow that out first. Now that it’s all natural I’m moving towards classic length or possibly longer. I’ll have to see how I feel about the length once I get there.

Since I was about 14/15 I've been trying to grow out my hair past BSL. Sometimes I was more serious about it, sometimes less. It only took me 18 years to reach that goal ;-)
From there on it went pretty smoothly. Now my longest tips are grazing the hipbone and very often I look in the mirror and can't believe it.

I’m wearing a double braid for the first time in my adult life, and possibly ever. Yesterday I wore a single braid for the first time in my adult life. The last time I wore a braid I was probably about 10, my older sister used to french braid my hair sometimes and she moved out when I was in 3rd grade. The firsts of many future braids!

You know I hadn’t really thought of having long silver hair until about 5 plus years ago. I’d travelled a ways to get an industrial lathe and this older women came out with a long silver braid down to her knee and I thought it was so cool. I’m not sure if I want my hair that long but I definitely want hair to at least classic. Actually I’d like to have a nice thick braid just past my butt. I prefer wearing braids to having my hair in a bun. I love feeling the braid swing. Am I weird or what?

It’s totally a fact I never thought I would grow my hair past bra strap length until I got into long hair community in 2016. But my real issue all along was conventional hair care methods which really are not hair care at all they are just cheap fast ways to make it look like you have better hair than you do, all while causing more damage. I love the site in this community and I plan on sticking around a very long time. :cheese:

Same for me. I have been there before years ago, so it's not a new one. I started with a short bob and have relatively broad (thanks boxing) shoulders, so APL is quite far away. It feels like it's taking forever to get there. APL is also the length that for me feels like having 'long' hair, at least for people out of LHC:D. Hopefully I'll be there by the end of winter.

BSL will be the longest my hair has ever been, so that's a very exciting idea!

I love the idea of this thread as everyone has their own major milestones that are not always length related. I haven't reached any but I think for me every cm past BSL will feel like a major milestone lol, apart from that I think WL is my sweet spot for milestones, WL stretched, WL curly, WL braided are all like my "main" milestones.

I think APL is a pretty versatile length. It can be worn down, comfortably, and it is also possible to do a few updos and even braids. It is also the length where it begins to look and feel long, like you say NicoleLionne.

Thank you! :) I am growing onwards and downwards but reserving the right to trim back a bit here and there as I please and see necessary. One such occasion will likely come at the end of this year when I'll be taking off maybe 5 cm (2 in).

Wow I love this thread, good idea Bat!

A little past chin with no layers or bangs has been a pretty major milestone for me, my hair hasn't been this long in nearly 3 years!
The last time it was chin length (besides a few months before my major trim) it was still boy short in the back and the bangs were chin length, and it's been quite a while since even that.

Getting to collarbone again will also be a major milestone for me, because that's the longest my hair has been in my 18+ adult life, and I'm so excited to start growing past that point!!!
Plus it starts to really feel "longish" at collarbone, that's when I'm able to do really solid ponytails and a few other updos, and it's a super flattering length on me :o

Thanks lapis! I'm going to continue with my current schedule of micro trimming with no specific length goal except to get to the point where it looks KL without stretching. It works for me and I am definitely seeing improvement in the hemline. I really want to thicken that up. Fine hair that compresses and also went through a bit of a shed from covid, but there's a lot of new growth in the temple area. Calf isn't off the table;)

I reached hip, which is longest ever (since childhood). I had waist length before as the longest length, and I'm really enjoying now that each new inch is a new experience :) My hair also feels long enough that I'm not obsessing over it (which I didn't really do this time anyway, it just kind of sneaked up on me.
I do S&D sometimes, I wash and condition about every two (or even three) weeks, I don't do much else to my hair. I want to learn new buns and up-do's for longer lengths as I imagine I will be wearing it up more as it gets longer. I don't have a set goal, but I think Classic or fingertip length would be beautiful. Maybe fingertip, as it would give the "modesty cover" from the front :D But I really don't know where I will end up, at what length does it start to feel like too much?

I'm just enjoying my hair now and curious about how it will feel like even longer!

Congratulations on HL, Wingspan! It sounds like you're in a good place hair-wise and have an uncomplicated routine also. "At what length does it start to feel like too much?" I think that will vary depending on each person's individual situation based on a number of factors, but you'll know it if/when you get there:) Until then, enjoy!

The longest my hair has ever been is MBL. I am APL now, and I reckon it is another 5" until MBL. After that I will grow it more! I am in the no trim for 2024. I have not cut my hair since 30 June 2022.
