I needed a change so.....

I got some highlights! Also a trim.

Just a quick explanation for this decision, I didn't mention it on here, or any desire to ever dye my hair, so I worry it may seem impulsive.
It's been a lot lately. Global events obviously, and then some stuff in my personal life that's really been stressing me out. All manageable things, it just builds up on one's mind, y'know?
I decided that I really just wanted something fun and happy and not that serious.
I was also feeling bored with my hair. I'm use to keeping it short, waiting for it to get long is just not something I'm use to.
This was my first time dying my hair ever in my life. I was worried about damage, but my stylist is really good at her job. She didn't use anything too strong and was careful, the hair feels basically the same. She also charged less than she quoted me, so that's nice.
I'm really really happy with it.
The amount of cotnrast looks different in different lighting, and I"m sure it'll change as time goes by and I wash it, but here's what it looks like right now

Oh yeah, no problems with the trim!
That part was actually last week. I had one scheduled early may but all the salons were closed, so it's been way over two weeks. It was just a little trimmed to give it some shape, thin it a bit, and make it a little cleaner, which is my preference.
In general my goal length isn't THAT long and I'm happy to get there slowly.

I can't promise I waited two weeks to decide on the highlights, ha. But I know myself pretty well, I can just sort of feel it when it's the right move for me.

You have to do what works for you, and your hair, and if this is what you wanted, then... why not? I did all kinds of things to my hair, been there done that, so I totally get it!
