These are great! I've seen a few before, but many were new to me. Thanks for sharing!

I have to say, I'm very happy some of those styles didn't stick around too long. XD Although the simple style from that first video is lovely. I always thought you couldn't do a tuck like that after hair became longer than BSL. I'll have to try to replicate it soon.

I wonder if she rinsed her hair after the soapy water, or used any oils. I doubt that conditioner was available in those days. I tried washing my hair with soap once and it turned into a sticky gluggy mess, virtually uncombable. Just wondering how it worked so well for her.

I thought that maybe the key was the washing's frequency...in the past people used to wash hair less, so maybe in this case there were enough sebum to balance the harsh washing... Just wondering...

Perhaps, but it didn't look very oily before she washed it. I do agree that people washed their hair less frequently though. Once a week was considered normal in my mother's day and there may have been many others who washed less often than that. Folks then wore scarves and hats which may have helped keep hair cleaner.
