I know so many of us are at different stages of loving our natural hair color. So i thought it would be fun to post pics and encourage each other!
Everyone's hair is different and unique... So let's embrace it

So here is mine! No dye,no growing out..

Wow, your red ombre is simply amazing!
I'm very much in the process of growing out my natural colour and I don't have so very much of it yet. This picture is from the fall of 2019 so I do have more by now, but I think it's the best representation of my colour (natural light, bright but no direct sunlight). It looks super different in different lightings, though.

my hair on darker days look like morticia addam's.

if there's sunny day outside reflecting on my bathroom window, my hair can look anything from brown to light brown and... other colors may reflect on my shiny hair, like redish(?) from my pyjama

Mine is pretty much clear to see in my signature picture. It is a good representation of it, of the ashy tone as well.

I can't post a picture right now (not that there aren't enough around already LOL) but my hair is chocolate brown with warm undertones and I'm rather fond of it. It can look quite red in direct sunlight. Getting some grays growing in here and there at this point but I'm okay with that. :)

My natural hair color varies greatly depending on the lighting... I've been growing my natural color out for a little over a year now. I love the shine more than anything! I can't wait to see how light it gets over the summer, most of my new hair growth hasn't even seen the sun yet lol.

Your hair is beautiful. It’s very similar in length , style and texture as mine only mine’s coarse.
I’ve been growing in my greys for 5 years now and the reverse ombré looks very similar to yours.
The coloured portion is hennaed but I can’t post pictures here still so can’t add one.

I thought today would be a good day to post these :)
The weather's lovely out, and I wanted to get some in natural light.
What surprised me is how different the color looks in different lighting! Some of it could be my camera too, but lighting really can make a huge difference.
So here's one in indirect sunlight:
https://66.media.tumblr.com/6097c00d4716b3263a6e98bc463c954a/6999f6056bf558ee-d9/s640x960/3ff6c1987005b3c508a3cccb8c5c940190af3bbc.jpg
And then in as direct sunlight as I could manage (it was too bright to see what I was photographing, so it's not a great shot, but it shows my hair and that's all that matters ha)
https://66.media.tumblr.com/cc2c4797c2b1465012792a8248d524bb/6999f6056bf558ee-87/s640x960/420eadc1c9692852fbed0c310b2e1e9c476517a7.jpg

This is an old photo. While I don't know that it's a more honest representation of my hair colour than any other picture, I liked the way it looked. It's in indirect sunlight by a window (that particular spot is my favourite hair photo spot haha, I have some other photos I like taken there, but I'm not there often).

I think every single one of you looks better with your natural color. Dyed and hennaed hair looks too all one color to me, where natural hair has many various tones that give it more depth and character. Great job at growing it back in! And think how much money and time you save now!

erebus, your hair color is very special!
Today I took some action pics and the light was very good, I think those shows very well my virgin hair color (no visible dye or henna here). It is just a medium brown, sorta tawny, but I love it. I missed it so much those last years...

Aww, I'm sure it suited you much better than you think! But being 12 can make you hate everything about your appearance.
I think my hair is technically ash brown, but I like to categorize it as "That color where you were blonde as a kid and then it kept getting darker until it's brown but not like the shade of brown people think of when they think of brown hair." I've had a couple friends with the same color, plus my brother.
Do you think you'll grow it out natural or are you still dying?

I've always like black or out there colours I still don't think I'll like it, but I want to give my scalp some rest, I probably still dye it again after its grown out but that won't be for a while and yep the call it ash brown or mousy brown I much prefer ash over mousey

My hair was clumping together in such a way that some of the lighter strands gathered together, so I took a photo, both in the sun and also in some indirect light. In reality the contrast is something in between the two. Not sure if the darker hairs are naturally darker or are just sun bleached less, but these particular dark ones were from my neck area so they would probably be exposed to the sun less.

Thanks for ressurecting the thread for the inspiration! I can't wait to post here when I have more of my natural color on my own head. It was very much lightened from the sun when I dyed it, so it's actually shocking me how dark it looks growing in now. Also, it still stuns me how people grow naturally light blonde hair! I've known so few natural blondes in my life that it still amazes me.

Looking gorgeous in the sun, Ponies.
Nicole, yours looks fab with the mix of natural and other colours, I’m loving the way the other colours flash in your bun.
Xlena, I’m reminded of honey and the different shades it can glow.
Shaluwm, that’s a fabulous colour you have there too. Just glorious.

Wow ‘Ponies your hair looks stunning! Amazing how the light lifts your colour. If it was wood I’d say medium oak

Tinyponies, what incredible hair!
I have always loved my haircolor so much that I never felt any compulsion to dye.
Maybe for ten minutes in my teens, but my mom said no and when the urge to object wasn't there I knew I wasn't too sure myself lol
I have started to notice very few white single strands here and there, mainly in the shorter, face framing hair and my eyebrows, which are black. I cannot say for sure what's going on with the rest of my hair because it has so many different shades that, if I have more, they are still swallowed up. But I'm curious about this development :)

So kind, thanks Finda.
It sounds like you have a similar sprinkling of white hairs to me, I noticed lately how a few of them (so far short) are cropping up around my hairline, right by my face now.

Thanks so much, shaluwm_agape!! I'm so glad the dye works with my own colour, never expected that at all.
Polished wood is a lovely description, Tinyponies! Now I have an extra reason to grow out the virgin, I have to figure out which wood matches best :D.
Your colour is stunning! I love the variation it shows in the sunlight, so pretty.
Ahw thanks, squirrel!:heartbeat
I've never regretted dying my hair at all, though sometimes it would be nice to know what it would have been like. I have always admired the natural development of hair colours on others, that was definitely a reason to grow mine out. It's so impressive to me that you never dyed yours, Finda. And definitely curious and exciting to see the sparkles pop up!

Picture from June 2019 when I'd been growing out bleach for about 2 years, so a lot of my hair was actually my natural colour. I can't wait to get back to this point (although I will be keeping my blonde in the front for the foreseeable future!)
It was so shiny and soft, and although my current colour is close to this if you aren't looking closely, it isn't anywhere near as good!

It honestly makes me happy that I like my natural colour enough that even the thought of ditching the blonde in the front doesn't bother me, but I would like to keep it for as long as my hair can handle.
As someone who dyed their hair from the age of 11 every colour you can imagine, this was the first time I had my natural colour since then, and I'm so glad I can love and appreciate it now.

It's lovely! I totally get wanting to have fun and changing it up but it like you said knowing that you love it so much so that if it does end up going back to the natural State that's so cool I dyed my hair since I was 15 and so I rarely saw my natural color until about 2011 I want to say and it took some getting used to

Obsessed with this picture my wife took for me! Apologies in advance if it's huge, I'm on mobile...
100% virgin, grown out from a buzz cut! No intention to dye it any time soon.

This picture is great, Simpscone. It does look so soft here. It’s a wonderful feeling to enjoy the hair colour nature handed you too.
I love the way your hair drapes over your shoulders now, Oxalis. The colour and shine is fab.

Thanks NicoleLionne  glad you enjoyed the wood comparison. The depth of colour you get on a beautiful piece of wood is quite stunning to me.
Simpscone, glad to see you back around the forum, and always lovely to hear how you’re enjoying your journey.
0xalis, your hair got long! It’s looking very healthy and happy there. Definitely mahogany vibes.

Same goes for me, sometimes I'm curious how color would have looked and I definitely admire it on others. My hair is so prone to breakage, my guess is probably not too great and at the moment having long hair definitely outweighs any wish for color :o

One of my favorite pics that show my hair's color. I think this was 2016? I don't think I have anything more recent in natural light.

So pretty, Gem. The colour reminds me of wood and wild honey:blossom:
Oh my, Ellethwyn! That's a gorgeous shade of blond to have naturally. I knew a lot of children who had that shade when they were young, but none of them kept it after primary school.
curlqueenjadine, I love the red tones! Your curls really show the variety and nuances of your natural colour. Your natural colour is pretty much what I attempted to get with dye:crush:
