How much conditoner do you use on a wash day? I am using a palmful (waist lenght, fine hair, some coarse underneath) and maybe thinking I might need more..

I use a lot.
I couldn't say an exact amount, because I just do a lot of pumps and add as I go, I don't pay a lot of attention to it. Plus, some conditioners are more concentrated than others and will go farther.

But personally I condition root to tip and use enough so that all of my hair feels coated. My hair just really likes conditioner.

Why do you feel you might need more?

Considering I have slightly coarser hair underneath, and silkier on top (but when you look at it, it's generally silky), that coarse part feels.. dry? No matter what I try, nothing helps. Which makes me think: there's nothing to be done about it.

And also, I noticed (with ANY conditoner, protein, protein free etc..) if I use too much, hair gets more dry than moistruized. So a palmful seems fine, but coarser hair needs something stronger, in that case - I'd get my hair oily.

This turned out longer than I wanted it to be, sorry. :D

Do you also use a leave in?

I have extra fine hair and use a good amount and make sure I add in enough water to give the seaweed feel. I either condition twice or use a masque then condition, every time.

I condition just like you do! I detangle my hair in the shower, so the conditioner just keeps getting added and added to make sure there is sufficient slip. I tend to use the cheapies (V05 and suave), but boy do I go through them!

I use a mask usually. I have super fine hair, waist length and I use (depending on the mask I use) nut or a nut and half

I'm not a complete finey but I found that doing an oil rinse was a step up for my hair, it did what conditioner couldn't. For you OP, maybe a swipe of oil on your coarser underlayer might do the job.

(I tend to use a nearly palmful of conditioner for my second C. For first C which sits for a few hours so needs to not drip, a palmful and a half because it's on less wet hair and harder to distribute.)

I use a good palmful and condition from the ears down. Sometimes a little more.

I think I go about 2/3 times with a 200ml bottle. I smear it on the lengths only, a bit like spreading butter on toast. Just cover the hair enough, not that it's laying on top of it, but enough that it is smoothed into the strands. I need plenty for all of my hair. Apparently.

I use a dollop about the size of a fifty-cent piece. I condition from ears down.
