Hi all! :waving: I am back on the hair growing journey after not really caring for a few years and am experiencing winter static. I remember that I used to mix coconut oil and aloe gel with something else? until it became white and creamy and I would use that for frizz. But I don't know the ratios or what that something else might be. If this sounds familiar to anyone I would love the link or recipe. Thank you!

Thanks for answering! No it's definitely not the SMT. I do those too. This was more of a leave in type thing.

I use a mixture of coconut oil, aloe gel, and shea butter, in equal amounts.

It's called a curl cream, but I just use it as a moisture lock-in.

Are you thinking of Kimberlilly's Defrizz Spray?

That's not it but you're making me think I may have gotten it from naturally curly. That's where I first started learning about hair.

No it was more of a cream. I may just need to experiment. Thanks.

It's not the LOC/LCO method is it (link is in my signature). You layer a leave-in, a gel and a serum. But this is styling, post-wash!

I just remember mixing coconut oil and clear aloe gel in a little container. As I mixed it, it became white and creamy, then I would smooth it on my hair. I think I mostly used it on second and third day hair to combat frizz and add moisture. I may have also added glycerin? Who knows, maybe I made it up. Thanks for the help everyone.

Was it Fox’s Conditioning Cream?

Definitely not. Shea butter is way too heavy for me.

Now I'm curious. Do you know what products you used? Brand? Maybe that can lead us somewhere?

I probably used Fruit of the Earth aloe gel. That is really popular on naturally curly which is why I'm starting to think I learned it from there... But their website has changed a lot since then and I don't think I ever had an account so I can't check with them. The coconut oil was either just whatever brand was at the health food store or possibly Vatica oil.

That sounds an awful lot like the start of an SMT, though. I know there are alternatives to the honey (oil) and then all you need is conditioner. And that's it.
