Hello all, I hope everyone is having a lovely day/night wherever you are :)

I’m currently trying to start transitioning to the CGM because I have a feeling that my current texture isn’t my fully natural texture. It seems like it might be stretched and weighed down by silicones.

I was wondering if there was an existing thread with recommendations for affordable CGM approved products? I tried searching for one, but had no luck. Maybe I didn’t search thoroughly enough? :)

For sulfate-free or sulfate-mild shampoos, there are these ranges:
HASK
Not your mother's
Maui Moisture
Shea Moisture
L'Oréal's "Ever" lines

Silicone-free, you'd have to read the labels on the individual products, but I'm sure there's a silicone-free products thread around here somewhere. :)

Garnier fructis treats line! They have shampoo and conditioner too, not sure if shampoo is sulfate free though.

Garnier whole blends but you have to check the labels, some leave ins and conditioners have cones but others don't.

The NYM 3in1 is very good too, silicone free.

Thank you! I’ll look out for those ones :)

Alberto VO5 moisture milk, the strawberries and cream conditioner is a curly girl favorite. As is the coconut conditioner from Suave.

Both are on the comparative low-quality list, but there are also people who have used them exclusively for years. It's all about finding what works best for your hair.

The current trend in curly girl is to recommend only water-soluble products. That is the buzzword this year. We'll see what next year brings.

Thanks! I’m looking forward to keeping up with the trends haha

If you're in Canada, the Down Under Natural's line is cone free. :)

I went back as far as 2014. I'm sure if you search a bit you'd be able to find some more. But these threads should help! :D :cheer:
