So, It's that time again.. well, almost. My anniversary is January but I know I'm going to be crazy busy so thought I'd make this thread while I have a little time. My "now" pics were taken very recently so I'm counting them as my January shots.
When I started on LHC I did not think I'd be here three years later! Blimey. I'm admittedly on here a lot less frequently now due to my new job which I'm loving but is tiring.
So, to recap: I joined in January 2017, however this was the day I bleached my hair and cut it back to MBL/Waist again "so it grows longer". Yeah, no.. I didn't give myself enough time to look at LHC properly. You can see the before and after of that particular decision on the link below.
It looks like my first anniversary thread no longer has pictures but my second still has pictures up! Link: https://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=148658
As for this year, I've managed to reach fingertip length - and today I have cut back probably about an inch and a half. The hemline needed it - and it's so satisfying to see blunt ends again! So I'm back up to just slightly beyond classic. Classic was my ultimate goal when I joined - now? I'm not sure. I think I'll stop growing when I feel my hemline isn't able to keep up.. so for 2020 I'm aiming for mid thigh length!
I'm also growing out the bleach dye - my last bleach was January 2017, however I got lowlights April 2017. No dye has touched my hair until today - I got deposit only dye in today and I'm loving how much it blends in and looks pretty close to my natural colour.
Without further ado, the pics:
So, bleach damaged hair that I left down most of the time - got washed most nights, trapped in coat zippers, random brush dragged through my hair, bleached over and over *shiver*. It was a mess.

Moving on - after cut and yet another bleach January 2017, here are yearly pictures until now:

Last but not least - my hair almost three years after my last bleach, before my deposit only dye and a trim and after said trim and dye. I love it!!

As for routine... it's stayed the same to be honest. Sulfate free didn't work for me - my hair felt so greasy so soon after washing and silicone free conditioner - the tangles, oh my. I think that's because I do have bleached hair though - I might retry this at some point when less of my hair is still bleach damaged. I usually shove it up in a bun for work, sometimes with a stick and sometimes with two claw clips each side of the bun.
I think I've had about 5 inches of growth this year so.. it's slowing a bit! I've trimmed about 4-4 1/2 inches total since the January 2017 cut.
Umm can't think of anything else. Feel free to ask any questions and I hope these pics show what can be achieved with patience!
