Anyone have any personal experience with Madison reed hair color? I noticed that it contains no ppd and have wondered if it might be an option for me. I have a lot of highlights that are brassy I would maybe like to cover and get back to my more natural color. Regular box dye caused an allergic reaction last time and it probably was from ppd. Just wondering if anyone has used Madison reed and what it was like.

I patch tested it a few years ago but had a reaction, same as I do for PPD. Apparently it’s got PTDS, which is like a cousin of PPD.

Thank you! I will pass on it then. I think it's either go blond or gray lol.

My mom went blonde as she went gray, with great success, I might add. You barely see the re-growth on the hair. She picks a light to mid-tone blonde shade (Syoss hair dye N° 7-6).

Her natural hair is black. She dyed it red or an "acajou" shade for many many years, but when her whole head was gray, the upkeep on the red dye was far too great, the re-growth was so apparent so quickly, and blonde seemed the best transition for the grays.

Depends how many grays you have, I guess.
