Looks a bit like a DNA braid:

Looks like two fishtail braids in a rope twist with an extra lock left out to wrap around the base.

I second the DNA braid, but no clue how to do it.

That's very cool. I would be so impressed if someone could pull off braiding this on themselves.

Challenge accepted. :eyebrows: :mrt:

(Also, when did we get a Mr T. smiley? I will be utilizing that regularly...)

I agree that it looks like the DNA braid. I thought I saw a S'il Vous Plaits (on YouTube) tutorial on it. She does all of her styles on her own head. Great channel, if you haven't heard of her before.

Looks like the girl has a tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQH2CAbijLo). I guess I know what hairstyle I'm attempting tomorrow! Doesn't look all that terribly hard. Of course, I haven't managed to do a double fishtail yet, and this looks very similar.

Oh wow! That's the same girl! haha

Thank you so much!

I did it! Man, that takes FOREVER. Like, twice as long a a fishtail, which is already very slow. It wasn't too difficult, just time consuming.

Here it is, already starting to shred at the top.

Nice! Doubt I'll be trying that one anytime soon. Fishtails looks cool, but take way too long for my patience level. Since you say this one takes even longer, I'm out. So thanks for testing it out for us. :)

Brethil that's so cool looking, even with the shred! Great work, I am tempted to try before my hair gets so long.

I know, me too. Especially since my hair loooooves to shred out of braids, so if it will take me longer to do the braid then it will stay looking nice, I'm out! (Still, I'll probably have to try this just once, on a day when I have a ton of time to get ready.)

Hey, that looks great, Brethil!
I tried it this morning and after five minutes of braiding I had about an inch of braid to show for it. I don't have the patience!

How is the take down/undo-ing? My hair like to try and tangle when taking down a 3 strand braid not to mention a fishtail. So I would think slightly more tangly than the fishtail braid? I think I get more tangling than average because of my shorter regrowth. It shreds quickly.
