Unfortunately, this picture was taken with my old phone. I also cropped it super close, which might make it a blur. However, if it shows enough, does anyone have any idea what’s going on with the strand? It has invisible areas...possibly even bubbles? I did some heat styling a few years ago...perhaps “bubble hair”? It’s variegated...brown and clear. I’m greying, but certainly it doesn’t happen like this...? I have other hairs like it, but most are normal. I hope to find another sometime and take a look under my son’s microscope.

Nah, it just looks finer than the rest of your hair. The “bubble” thing going on just looks like light reflecting.

It is finer, and I have noticed a sheen on these hairs. So, maybe it is just light reflecting...hope so. Although, on the actual picture, I can see my blue shirt through parts of the hair. Would that be because it’s just so fine?

(Edit: Hmm, maybe it just gives the impression of blue, but is really shine. I’m going to post a less cropped view.)

I think you’re probably right, but here is one less cropped. Thanks!!

(Edit: This doesn’t show well on the forum at all. It’s of no help, sorry.)

Maybe circle the one hair you’re pin pointing. My eyes just aren’t wanting to focus lol. But I can see the blue you’re talking about, but since it’s a finer strand I just think it’s due to the photo, the light, and the certain colors all interacting at the moment the flash went off on your camera.

I wouldn’t worry about it much. All your other hairs look very deep in color, and well maintained.

Hello,
While I cannot see the picture really well I remember when my grays first started to come in. It resolved now that the grays are more mature but, there would be an occasional strand that had varying textures throughout it, (I suspect the change in melanin and structure was to blame.) It has pretty much resolved in the established grays. Maybe that is it?

Looks like normal color variation. Hair strands don't aprout 12 inches overnight so it's very normal and expected for one strand to have horizontal color demarcations.

I see what you mean by the little transparent areas, but I wouldn't worry about it at all. The hair is also finer than the rest (which can happen). People normally have hairs of different thicknesses on their head.
