Today it's almost exactly 6 months since I did the big chop (due to huge hairloss tragedy, dermatologist discovered bald spots all over my head and prescribed biotin) and I thought it would be interesting to see what a 6 months progress looks like :) Would love to see yours :)
Here is mine:
Mid November 2018 to today, 10 minutes ago. Have washed the oils out, it's almost dry now, brushed, only a bit damp ends.

And braided now. I'm SOOOOOO happy I can braid it again after waiting 6 months. At chin there was no way to braid anything besides half a french braid or side french braids. But no 'real' back braid. And I LOVE braiding.

I'm still not sure what texture I have. I always detangle/comb it after washing because otherwise there will be undetangeable knots afterwards (especially near the scalp which is really difficult to deal with) and a lot of breakage trying to detangle dry. Maybe I should try something like the curly girl method and see how many curls and waves I have now and what the main texture is. I have discovered all textures on my head lately. From totally straight to 4c. That's what makes it so difficult and tangly.

That's great growth! And your hair looks beautiful and thick. You would never imagine for a moment (from those photos) that you had suffered hair loss!

Thank you very much, Cate😊😊😊Yes, I get huge sheds about every 20 months. I lose about 50% of my hair then. With the bob and bald spots it still looked quite thick because of my texture. I have curls and wurls underneath and between the straight strands, so, everything together looks straight when brushed out wet but still puffy and thick, even when it’s not. Also when I would squeeze my braid tightly it would be much thinner. But I‘m happy and thankful that the shedding has stopped and I do everything to prevent the next one. Maybe this time it will work.

WOW!!! That's fantastic hair and great progress desisparkles and amiraaah. I love curls so much! Would love to have some :) I think I should start doing the curly girl method and not combing after washes. Will see :) Thank you very much for posting the pictures :) You are both very fast growers! It's a lot in only 6 months! Just imagine, 6 months aren't that long! You have LOONG hair now and in another six months you will have LOOOOOOOONG hair :) :) :) Happy with you :) And it looks sooo healthy :) :) :)

Great post and pictures. You can really see the growth of everyone in only 6 months. It's very encouraging.
Here is my contribution:
These are 6 months apart. October to April with one half inch trim in January.

^I love this picture as you can see the demarcation between pre lhc hair with big surgery/stress shed regrowth and the shiny new stuff.
Next year I might actually settle down in one place, so I look forward to finding a regular picture-taking spot.

WOW! Thank you for all the pictures! You make my day! I had a very, very stressful week but seeing so much wonderful hair and growth makes me smile from ear to ear. Tinyponies, I love your scarf (it is a scarf, right?) I LOOOVE paisley, it's even mentioned in some of my songs, LOL, because I love it so much. My mom wore a lot of paisley when I was a little kid, I think that's why. :)

Wow everyone’s growth for 6 months is amazing!!! I’d never have believed hair could grow this much in 6 months without taking photos to see it!

25/26” to 29ish, October/April... bra strap, to almost waist.... within these 6 months I’ve had some post-partum shedding.
Good idea for a thread!

Ha, yeah it’s a rectangular blanket that I wrap around as a shawl, super cosy and useful :)

Amazing progress Bat! What a difference 6 months makes.
I'm almost at 6 months myself and I am shocked at what a few extra inches can look like at shorter lengths. It definitely stops the urge to trim!
