Hello! I highlight and tone my hair by a professional once every 8-12 weeks, I decided to no longer run the bleach through to my ends and so now we just do some baby highlights in the front and tone the rest so that it blends nicely. I really need some advice on a hair care routine that would allow my super fine blonde hair to get from APL to Tailbone! I love oils but haven't used them in a year and I use lots of leave in stuff and I don't blow dry my hair. sometimes I curl it but I'm about to give that up too. Im thinking maybe I should cut a solid 2 inches off for health and then keep trying! I always fall short on what to buy or use and how often!

Thank you!!!

Have you looked at this (http://web.archive.org/web/20120307010120/http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=39) thread? It has some good tips on how to start on the hair journey. One of my favorite parts of this says “Technique matters” just as much or more than product. Things that helped me the most on the hair journey was gentle handling and detangling. Other things, like washing or products, had some effect but the biggest difference between my “wannabe-long” and actually long hair was that the latter sustained far less mechanical damage.

ETA: This (https://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=21256) thread about maintaining bleached hair might also be of use if you’re planning on keeping the already bleached parts of your hair.
