This is an old bottle of redken body full shampoo. I’m trying to use some stuff up as I have a ton of products. I also like to make sure I have a few different silicone free shampoo options compared to silicone containing shampoos. Does this one have silicones? What is PPG-CETETH-20? This one has alot of ingredients I dont recognize. Also, I’ve had this bottle for like 6+ years but on the bottle it looks like its only good for 12 months? What happens after 12 months?

PPG-5-ceteth-20 is a surfactant and an emollient. I don't see silicones in there.

The 12 months means 12 months after opening. If you opened it just now, it's probably fine. Even if you didn't, it's probably fine, as long as it looks and smells okay and generally doesn't seem off in any particular manner.

Take some on your hand and examine it. :) If it seems off, don't use it.

I cant remember what it usually smells like but it has a very strong chemical smell to it and a strong alcohol smell. Also when I opened the cap, it looks like if could be ?mold? dried around the opening?? Definitely not sure what it is, because the top is black and whatever this substance is blends in with the cap. None of my other bottles of shampoo have one of those expiration date things on them so i didnt even think to check the product first, until I looked at the pictures as I was posting them. I think I can throw this one in the trash

Yeah, if you're in doubt and don't feel confident about using it, toss it.

Clean off the cap; shake the bottle well, then examine the contents. ;)

I have used shampoo that was 10+ years old, some of it had been opened; it was fine. But you'll have to examine this for yourself, bottle by bottle.
