:O oh yay, a 2-stick bun! I've not learned any 2-stick buns yet; I shall give it a go right away.

Edit: Haahahahaha, nope! Too thin, too much taper, too compressible, too much wrapping, OR too loose. Oh well.

Well, that requires a lot more hair that I currently have, maybe more hair than I'll ever have again.

I tried this several times yesterday with different results every time!
If I do it exactly as in the video, my ends poke out.
If I bring the loop down and to the opposite side, it traps the ends and it holds better. Maybe it depends where your ends end up?
I'm not a fan so far but I'm not giving up yet.

ETA: Here's a sideways pic.

No way, I can't even do a celtic knot haha. It's very pretty though. I don't have enough hair.

Okay, I need another foot of hair to do this - seriously not going to work!

Did someone say thin and compressible? Feeeeeeeble. I'll stick to edible brioches.

Haartraum's video is helpful as well. Sometimes I have to watch the same bun done by three different people just to get the concept. :knuckle:

This was my result when I tried a modified version (wrapping the hair around three fingers instead of my whole hand):

It doesn't look the same at all...I might have to try it again.

Hmm looks a bit confusing. I might try it though. The problem is every single time I have to wrap around three fingers or so it never works. My hands and my fingers are too small and it always ends up slipping. I might cheat and do it with my hair braided like I did for the Spock bun.

You make it look so easy!! it's a beautiful bun but I would need more hair. Your hair color is beautiful!

I liked watching the Dutch version as well, I have to order all my sticks online. If anyone can point me in a good direction the trial and error things is getting to me.

I tried it again and I actually really loved the results. It looks like a fluffy little dinner roll!

I tried yesterday and secured it with two Upins but I think it is not quite right, after threading the hair though the loop, I do not know what to do, do you spread it or what, anyway, here I tried to secure with a stick which looked better....

Mine, with and without my faithful scrunchie. The scrunchie helps eliminate the hair from sagging at the nape - and makes the bun look bigger too, so a win-win there, I think. Tell me, do you prefer it with or without the scrunchie?

All these buns are so beautiful!

Sara L definitely without! Gorgeous!

This is a nice change from my go to, which I have no name for, but starts out the same - wrap up and around the 3 fingers, but then I just keep wrapping around the base, not too tightly, and then end it by pulling/stretching the loop from top to bottom on the right side of the bun. One fork holds it and it make me look like I have more hair than I do and it's asymmetrical which I like. I think I made it up when some other bun didn't work.

Oh yay, beautiful successful brioche buns! Well done all of you :applause

SarahLabyrinth I'm going to be contrary and say I like both - with scrunchie frames it really nicely, and without shows off the bun and your hair in its natural state. [Ligeia your photo has disappeared? I saw it before when I thought I'd replied on the thread but now it's gone.]
