You all have already recommended conditioners that have helped me. Can someone recommend a shampoo? It has to have sulfates and for dry or damaged hair

It all depends on how your scalp does. Is it oily? Then the clay one by L'Oréal Elvive is *divine*! If you are in the US!
I don't know about other countries, but I do know your range a bit (if you are in the US).
I would choose a shampoo depending on the scalp, but the L'Oreal line (Elvive) do an oil one too, and I think even a keratin one.

If you have a Sally’s Beauty Supply around, you might like their GVP generic of Biolage Hydrating or Paul Mitchell Awapuhi shampoos.

This is my absolute favorite shampoo of all time: https://www.naturasiberica.net.au/product/oblepikha-shampoo-intensive-hydration/
If I had to choose just one shampoo to use for the rest of my life, it would be that one.
My hair is demanding in terms of moisture. That shampoo has sulfates (SCS), but it's not drying for me as long as I do just one round of shampoo. Normally I wash my scalp and roots and let the suds run through the rest. This shampoo is also an excellent detangler and smells incredible.

I might have to put this on a list of things to try. My skin is quite oily and my scalp sometimes gets so greasy it hurts if I don't wash my hair enough or if a shampoo builds up too much.

If you can get the Loreal Elvive Dream Lengths one I whole heartedly recommend that. My hair loves it, it comes in an orange bottle with pink accents.

I have tried it and it could prolong my washing by as good as a day! I have the clay one from Ultra Doux (Whole Blends) as well, they do one here in Belgium, not in the US though, and that is awesome too.
My scalp has normalized, so that I can now wash about once a week, but I still like to use stuff for oily hair.

My favorite shampoo for dry or damaged hair is Pantene Pro-V. Anyone of the Pantene Pro-V shampoos that is made for dry and damaged hair. You can find it anyone of your local Walmart stores. Or, drugstores.

Yes I love Pantene, but I wouldn't sleep on L'Oréal haircare, and I feel like I can't keep recommending the same thing over and over again, just because I happen to use it. I have used the clay on in the past and have *really* liked it. I love my Pantene Aqua Light but that is sadly discontinued (I have backstock).
The Pantene volumizing shampoo is a good one too, for a sulfate, non-silicone shampoo. And it is a great clarifier as well!

Garnier Ultimate Blends (Whole Blends in the US) is a really good line. I would recommend pretty much all of the shampoos from it as they're all hydrating (the ones available here in the UK at least), but some more than others. For you I might recommend the Coconut Water & Aloe Vera and Oat Milk ones just because I've used most of the shampoos from the line yet those two seem to be the lightest (while being hydrating), and you mentioned on a previous thread you have fine hair. The conditioners are pretty nice too and everything smells delicious! :)

Oh yes, called "Ultra Doux" in Belgium, and what you can get from the line depends country to country; but a great line!

I love that shampoo! Plus the design of the bottle is lovely. I also tried the volume one from the same brand but I didn't like it as much.

I really liked this one: Natura Estonica Bio Hair Growth Natural Miracle Shampoo (I didn't notice a boost in my hair growth but I wasn't expecting it either. It leaves my hair beautiful and I like the smell)
It contains coco sulfate

I love getting to know the names all over! :D It's weird & fun! You would think, they are (almost) all English words, why not make it one name. Right? I mean "Ultra Doux" is French for Ultra Soft or Super Soft, and half of Belgium is French-speaking, so I think, makes sense. Then the other Dutch speaking country neighboring us (The Netherlands), bordering on the Flemish half of Belgium, there it is called Loving Blends. It's confusing at the same time. LOL!

Someone is free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I've gotten the impression that French speaking people in particular (as well as Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Russian speaking, for example) are more receptive towards things that come in their own language, be it the name of a store or narration and texts in a video game (video games are most often translated to these languages and some Asian languages). I don't know if knowledge of English is lower than average in these countries, so I'm not sure how big of a part language skills play in that, but I'm sure it matters as well. I know the same phenomenon exists in nearly all countries to some degree; I know of a few cases like that in Finland, too. Speaking of which, 'respons' means 'response, feedback' in Swedish, which is the second official language of Finland and also widely understood in the rest of the Nordics, so makes sense it would be called that here. :)
Why there are so many different Blends I have no idea. :D But as far as I know, English is VERY widely and well spoken in the Netherlands, so that makes sense to me as well. But they could have saved money and just used an existing Blends. :D

Yep, the French are very attached to their language, like no other country in the EU. My mom noticed that "finally" after all these years English movies on French stations are no longer dubbed, but instead subtitled - for the first time in *forever*. You could never watch an English movie on a French station in its original language!
