Yes, I am 34 years old and do not know how to do a bun. Would BSL hair fit in a bun? And can anyone describe to me how do to it? Or point me in the direction of finding out?

Search YouTube for tutorials. Depending on your thickness you can probably do a lazy wrap bun, and definitely a disc bun. That's how I learned how to do buns!

If I was you I would just stick to simple ones that can hold short hair, such as a peacock twist, french twist, simple cinna bun. These can be held with a claw, a stick, pencil, scrunchie.

Don't worry. I just turned 48 and only learned this year.

Look up sock buns or messy buns. Your hair is long enough for those buns. APL length works well to do those styles.

BSL is pretty short for a bun. I'm sure you can do a chingon or a "messy bun". But both of these require hair elastics so they are not ideal.

I don't know why everyone is saying bsl is short for a bun, most people in the apl to bsl thread are wearing buns. At the very least a basic cinnabun held with claw clips or the disc bun. A lot of bsl hair can do the lwb bun too (depends on actual length vs thickness).

Sure there are lots of buns that require more length, but bsl is not too short for every bun.

I like that lwb. I need to get a hair stick. I found this video and her hair is very much shorter than mine

I love the way she does that!

I agree, I am - little past BSL and I can do the LWB as described in the video posted earlier, as well as a figure-8 (though it’s not all-day secure and has some layers sticking out). BSL is the length that I feel I can finally do buns without elastics!

If you want to try some of the other fancy buns on this site that are meant for longer than BSL hair, I suggest doing a half-up version, so you have less thickness vs length. They will look tiny but they’re cute I think!

Sometimes if you can't accomplish one bun because you don't have enough length, you can do 2.

Etsy! Have a look at the Conventional Products and Accessories forum (https://forums.longhaircommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=46) - the threads there all have links to the relevant shops :)
