Cheap and cheerful, Dollar Store find

Every now and then I get lucky. Found these at the dollar store today.

Who else finds hair accessories in unexpected places?

Just don't get too attached to those. Plastic hairsticks can snap and break very easily.

They're fine for decoration, but you're better off using a metal or wooden hair accessory for anything structural.

Those are nice. :) Hope they hold up for you. I gave up on plastic as it broke, but my hair is *much* longer than yours, so maybe they'll work well for you. I love Dollar Stores!

Those are cute. I have some that resemble those, from Claire's but they weren't $1. ;) More like 4x as much.

I would buy a few, so you at least have 2 in every color. Isn't that a good idea. But for dollar stores it's always, stock up while you are there and find something, because it might be gone when you go back!

I do IT support and make house calls. While I was in that city, when I was done working, I spent my personal time doing a little shopping.

Going back may happen, it's only 50 miles away, but probably not within the next few days.

Yes, because when one breaks, you have another one - that is me with claw clips for washing (and clipping) my hair while it air dries. :D

Do you have a Claire's around? Check there if you do.

The inventory at Claire's is spotty at best. I've found sticks at only one location. And many don't even have basic barrettes.

Online I recommend looking at eBay. I have found some beautiful and inexpensive items that way.

I love eBay! I've found lots of hair forks made of wood or ox horn or ... well, anything you want on that site. But those hair sticks you found, OP, are really nice, & you can't beat that price!

Some etsy sellers also sell on ebay.
I just go on ebay and type in "hair stick" or "hair slide" or "hair fork" and sort from cheapest to most expensive.

were purchased on eBay. I don't think any individual purchase including shipping cost more than $15. I also have a few metal hair slides with leaf decorations on the stick that I bought on eBay. They were a dollar each. Maybe $1.05. With free shipping from China.
