My husband surprised me for our first anniversary and found me this beautiful hairstick! (I'm surprised; 1. because since we're flat broke we weren't doing anything special. And 2. Because the man apparently listens to my hair babble?!?!)

Yep. Lol he found an etsy shop where could pick the color/tip and decided on alligator green because I'm from Florida.

I think I had my first flexi-8 2 years ago, and my first hair stick could have been around a year ago! I upcycled an old painbrush handle; its my strongest and favourite stick ever!

Congratulations! What a kind man. :) I bought my first few a couple of weeks ago. One from amazon, two from Etsy, and I bought a couple of flexi 8s. My hair is still barely long enough to use the sticks, but the two I bouht from Etsy were so beautiful I just had to have them. I told myself I'd grow into them.

I found a woodcarver who made me 3 plain sticks in different woods. They were my first sticks that weren’t chopsticks.

I bought mine from Lilla Rose maybe a month or so ago. I bought two Flexi-8s and a basic wooden stick, and I got a free hairpin on top of it. I'm pretty new to this hair toy stuff.

What a sweet man, the stick is very pretty!
My first hair sticks were just old paintbrush stems that I prepared by myself, nothing fancy. I did order a couple of wooden hair forks from a net store.
My DH hasn't gifted me any hair toys but he said he will save me some elk bones from this years hunt if I'd like to craft something out of them. :D

I don't have a hair stick yet... and I'm waiting for my first flexi. I might order a stick soon too - a couple of days ago I actually managed to put my hair in a disc bun with a pencil and boy , it was holding! That's a new milestone:D. But I'm still very new to the hair toy world.

My first hair stick was a very cheap dark wood one with a carved bunny on top :)

I started with some I found at sally and my first 'real' (quality) stick was a set of ketylos I picked up on the swap board here.
