Hi there ! I'm back after my first post, where someone helped me find the Visual Hairtyping Guide I was looking for and couldn't find ><

Well... I now know I have pretty much coarse hair (like some of them are at least as thick as my little finger ^^, and some of them a bit thinner). I am an iii for overall thickness...

But I can't decide if my hair is a 1C, 2A... of what ?

When I just washed my hair, and let it air dry, it's like reaaally wavy, I even have some spiral curls in the front... But then when I wear it down for the day, or comb / brush it... Almost all the waves are gone, and here I am left with straight-ish hair, a bit wavy, a bit straight... I don't really know how to explain, so I guess I'll let the pictures speak by themselves !

Here is the hair just washed and freshly dried.

Here it is at the end of the day after being combed.

And this is the next days...

So my question is... What in the world is my hair type ?:D

(good to know: I was extra curly when I was a little girl ! And now... I have this >< )

I would throw out 2A, but don't trust me, I'm not a professional.

Comparing to myself being a 1C leaning towards 2A here and there, your non-brushed waves start higher and they're a bit stronger.

I'm in agreement with Yiva. I love that color. Your hair so nice and shiny.

I would say 2a.

How it looks after you brush it doesn't count :p I would say 2a for how your hair looks in the first photo, but it might get wavier as it gets longer, hard to tell when it's at that length.

Oh very pretty! And welcome :flower:

For now I'd probably say 2a but that spiralling indicates potential for more texture, once you find the optimal routine for your hair - I definitely recommend you do another hairtyping picture in say, maybe a year to see if it's changed :)

Thank you all for your answers ! Well, let's roll with 2A !

I think my hair has potential for curls, yup... But at the same time it's soooo heavy I can't figure out how it could get any bouncy I don't know, I'll keep on taking reaaally good care of it, and then I'll take some more pictures in a year, we'll see what it looks likes !

Thank youuu

Ow, sorry for the weird symbols, I just posted from my phone and didn't realize my smileys wouldn't work ! Ooops !

Also, I forgot to thank you all for the compliments about my color and shine and all ! :D

Sometimes it takes length to show hair texture. Waves with curls give a potential for 2C.

My hair is like that - waves and curls that can be combed nearly straight. If the category existed, I think I'd type mine 1B-2C.

I would say 2a for the time being as well. Do get another hairtyping in when it's APL/BSL or so. Waves take length to develop nicely.
