About four years ago I decided to chop off all my beautiful waist length hair. I cut it chin length with the underside shaved. I also bleached the heck out of it then dyed it pink and purple. (New life new you type thought.) Well just doing that did quite a bit of damage to my hair so as it was growing out I figured why stop there with the dying. Needless to say after 3 and a half years of dying and bleaching my hair got quite damaged. During this time I also stopped cowashing.

Well it's been 7 months since I've dyed my hair and I'm ready to get it back in shape. Tonight I cut 3 inches off which got ride of the visible dry ends. I was looking at the store for my suave everlasting sunshine conditioner that i used to cowash with as it was the one i had the best results with and 3 stores near me do not carry it any longer. So the search is on for a new conditioner. I also have tons of damage from wearing my hair up in tight ponytails. So I'm trying to make it a point to go back to braids and buns. But in the 4 years since I've took care of my hair I lost all my hair tools except for 2 hair sticks that absolutely do not match lol.

Wish me luck and if anyone has any conditioner recommendations it would be appreciated. Or any other tips and tricks. After my cut tonight my hair is bsl.

Welcome back to the dark side :P Muahaha. BSL is a fun length! Happy growing. Be sure to visit the swap/sell board once you've been here longer, to get your hands on some more hair tools.

Welcome & happy growing to you! :)

My absolute favorite conditioner is the Herbal Essences Hello Hydration (a great detangler). It does have silicones, but if that doesn't bother you, and it happens to not be discontinued in your part of the world, it's a good one.

Welcome back! That's one of the Suave Essentials line, isn't it? I believe that any of their other conditioners are likely almost identical except for scent. I compared mine (the cherry blossom one) with that one on the site and the first 10 ingredients are identical in placement, then the cherry blossom has a different one, then the same two next (but reversed), and then more differences for the bits that seem mostly for scent and color.

But you can still buy the sunshine one, online, I think! I've seen it a few times.

Here's a link to the conditioner you like on Amazon. If you have Amazon Prime, it costs just $12.99 for SIX 30 ounce bottles:

I am about ready to do my first smt in 4 years and I have to say I'm excited for it. I'm sure my poor hair could use it.

Thanks for the link Deborah! I love the stuff for co washing.

Yes it's in the naturals line. I will def check out the others. I had originally picked the everlasting sunshine one because of the smell lol
