I’ve tried a tonne of shine & glossing products throughout the years but this product truly delivers, like nothing else. It gives absolutely crazy shine and unlike many of the others, it doesn’t make your hair greasy at all. A little bit goes a long way. Plus it tames frizz reliably.

This picture does not do the shine justice but it was the best I could do, to try to capture it with a camera. I brushed my hair out straight to reflect the light even more. You can see it mostly at the top of my head.

This product will not disappoint. It’s a must-have, for those who love shine that goes beyond the norm.

Mineral oil works beautifully for me, and is probably much cheaper.

I’m sure mineral oil works wonderfully too, Sarahlabyrinth...so does vitamin E oil...but I still wouldn’t give this stuff up for all the world because it also tames my frizz like no other product ever has. To get this kind of shine and frizz elimination from one product, is like a dream come true for me. I get comments all the time, asking me how I get my hair so shiny.

I sometimes combine vitamin E oil and unpasteurized local honey for shine and frizz taming too though and here is the result I get....

Lol. Of course not. Lots of people show their hair products and talk about them...are they advertising? There IS an ad in the top right corner of my first post though.

I just love this stuff and simply wanted to share it with you guys in case you were looking for a great shine product that really is a cut above the rest.

Haha, I'm just messing with you. The way you talk about the product reminds me a bit of tv ads :bluebiggr

The fact that their own site doesn't feature the product is a bit weird, there is a link to it at one place, but it leads to nothing.

Hahaha...I just have a lot of enthusiasm for this product...but I get what you mean. Especially the part where I said “for those who love shine that goes beyond the norm” Sounds kinda like a commercial. It’s nice to meet someone on here with a sense of humor.

I never actually googled this product or looked at reviews...but yeah, that is weird. I just love it and don’t care what reviewers say. Guess that’s why I’ve never looked it up.

It doesn’t give me the greasy look that many oils do. I’ve hated most balms I’ve tried so I was skeptical when I first bought it...but they said I could return it for a full refund, if I didn’t like. I got it at Trade Secrets. I never brought it back though and have bought 3 more since then. The jar is small but it lasts me forever. Like 6 to 8 months.

I'm glad you've found something that works so well for you!

This product doesn't seem to exist anywhere near me. I'm trying to avoid buying things from across the globe so I think I'll have to pass. Would've been fun to try it out though, shine is fun.

It's not available where I live either (we don't have AG products) but I have plenty of products that work, and I am with Sarah, mineral oil (or the neem oil I'm using right now in my oil rinse) works just fine.

Yep, any oil is gonna give you shine, but most straight oils on the roots are also going to make it very greasy, especially mineral oil. They also don't add the same softness.

Just looked up the ingredients for the AG Balm. It looks like a very nice product. Added it to my list of to try eventually..( I got a looong list..lol)

Right now my fave is Briogeo Rosarco Oil. Gives amazing shine and softness, with just a drop or two.

It depends largely how you use it and how much oil you use. Just a few drops aren't going to get you oily, but I tend to avoid the roots like you wouldn't believe. I only oil the last 4/5 inches of my hair (oil rinse).

A few drops of mineral oil on my roots will make them look wet. I tried once when I was very young.. omg.. never again..lol..

One of the first ingredients is PPG-3 Benzyl Ether Myristate ,a plasticizer. So yes, it makes sense that this would work differently than silicone based or oil based products. A while back, I regularly used a polyethylene based conditioner and it worked well. Plastics definitely smooth out hair, temporarily stick split ends back together, and make hair shine.

Not sure I'd try this one at the prices I'm seeing though. $20 for 2 oz. Yikes!

Oh yes, definitely there are lots of amazing products and oils to make hair shine. Indeed.

What I enjoy about this product most especially though, is that I can put it on my roots and it doesn’t give me the oily slickster look that many oils will. I think the key with oils is using them very sparingly. However, not ALL oils will give me that diamond shine I’m looking for. Many products will make my hair shiny but this gives me moviestar kind of shine. No exaggeration.

I pay about $15 for this AG product but it is worth every penny to me and it lasts me a very long time, as I mentioned.

The only thing that has compared to this...although still not quite as effective...is vitamin E oil. I buy it at the Walmart pharmacy for around $8 for a 30ml bottle. It definitely makes me shiny but it’s very sticky to work with. Sometimes I even combine the two if I want a super shiny updo. Talk about bling! :sun:

There are things I go cheap on but my hair isn’t one of them. I like good quality products that are above average. That isn’t to say though, that inexpensive products can’t work nicely too. They sure can. Just depends.

I wouldn’t want to order something from halfway across the world either...how ridiculous. I get it. I didn’t realize it wasn’t available online because I buy it at the store. It’s a shame this product isn’t more accessible to everyone.
