View Full Version : Hat challenges??

I love my baseball hats. And I love my hairtoys. So I often end up with a bun that I'm trying to fit through that little opening, along with maneuvering a hairstick or fork through the same space. (Because God forbid I should go to all the trouble to take my hair down first.) Here's an example. Anyone else do this??

I've been wearing a baseball cap on my morning walks lately, but I haven't tried your bun-with-stick-through-the-opening trick! :)

I don't wear hats too often, but I have one of these for when I am hiking.

I’m personally getting good at shoving hair underneath broad brimmed hats; gottta have the sun protection all around. Braids wrapped around the head are a good all-round workhorse style; fits under sun hats and hard hats, and I can still sleep on it. I don’t really wear caps anymore, I burn too easily in them.

As for hair toys, I go looking for compact ones that will tuck into the style. I have a small curved fork that almost vanishes in nautalis and cinnibuns; can just fit under a hat but doesn’t quite work under hard hats.

The curls on that model are a thing of beauty; and the cap is a strangely genius idea. I love it .

I got a sun hat from Colonial Williamsburg that is designed to sit on top of the head and has ribbons that tie underneath a bun. I also use a hatpin to hold it in place sometimes. Ordinary sun hats sit ridiculously far forward if I put them on above my bun or if I try to put them over my bun, the hat covers my bun not my head.

I've done it, one of the advantages being that the hat won't fall off, even in wind.

I wear a baseball cap every day for work. I just gather my hair like I'm doing a ponytail and pull it through the hole. I usually english braid it and then put it in a lwb.

I do that too. But if my hair is already up in a bun, I do the buttonhole thing.

This is pretty brilliant, I'm gonna have to get one of these for myself. :)
