A friend of mine gave me a kombucha scoby last year, and I’ve only made a few batches of tea since then. Mostly I keep the scoby alive for fun.

Anyway, I ran out of the vinegar I’d been using to rinse out my hair after washes, and realized that the scoby bath that’s been sitting around fermenting for months was probably a suitable substitute, so I went ahead and used it. It’s been a few washes and I think my hair likes it just as well as the usual vinegar. Hurrah for lazy diy! Lol.

Has anyone here used unusual vinegars for hair rinses?

I make kombucha, it sure smells like vinegar! Every time I walk past my brew, I get a whiff of vinegar. I can totally see it working the same.
