View Full Version : Alt-text for images?

I'm ashamed to admit that it had never occurred to me before, but does anyone know how we add alt-text to our images (the text that screen readers would read when it comes to the images)? This forum is so image-dependant that it would be nice to make it a little more accessible :)

Let me try something:

So this is the code I am trying. The software does not support doing this automatically, but I am going to see if the old way works.
Test image below:

Edit, I should have a cup of tea before I do these things! That was the wrong code. It will make your images clickable, which is very useful, but doesn't solve the problem.(This one is not clickable since I tried putting the caption in the url spot, d'oh!)

From my searching it appears they simply do not support alt test for images anymore. Alternatively, what I see people do elsewhere is to caption their pictures right below.
(Warning mild swearing if you continue to scroll further down, but none before the caption example which is at the top of the post)

Ah okay, thank you for giving that a go! I did do a Google search just after iforgotmylogin suggested it but couldn't find anything remotely useful. I'll just try to remember to caption my images when I post, in that case :) Thanks!
