Ive been searching for days out of curiosity, but can't find any pictures or videos of a crown braid (or similar braids like heidi braids) on extra long hair. I was wondering if someone on this forum with thigh - floor length hair could do one and post a picture or video? I assume that there is no limit to the length at which you can do a crown braid, you just keep wrapping and pinning the braid around your head right? I would think that it would be a more popular hairstyle for those with extremely long hair, yet I can't find any examples.

If anyone with crazy long hair is feeling bored and wants to give it a try I would love to see! :cheer:

Length has nothing to do with crown braids you just wrap the braid around the head and pin it.

I used this video to do my crown braid

Ooh that looks gorgeous! Thats a lovely picture! I was wondering if there is a certain point when it starts to look funny, like theres just too much hair wrapped around.

I have not found such a point yet, but if you had enough thickness to your braid, there is a variation where you do a braided bu at the base that looks stunning!

I dont see how there would be a point, one could tuck the other longer braid around the head under the bumps so its camouflaged I'm lazy and just wrap it around my head 3 times.

Thanks guys! I will have to look for pictures of the version with a bun at the bottom as well!

Are you asking about an actual crown braid that is made like a Dutch/French braid all the way around the head, or just a basic English braid that then gets pinned around the head (faux crown)? I last was able to do a crown braid sometime at knee-ish, and I regularly braid my hair and then pin it around my head now at floor+. Which of these do you mean?

I've seen heidi braids where you fold your hair in half then pin too

This is my crownbraid all the way around my head, only the end of the braid is wrapped around and pinned.
Kneelength hair.

This is hairtaping....two ropebraids wrapped around the head sewn into place with a ribbon.
Very comfortable!

Gorgeous braids everyone!

I love crown braids so it's nice to know I'll still be able to do them when my hair's longer.

So pretty! :heartbeat You're a living Rembrandt! What are the little decorative pins in your crown braid?

Just posted in the other braid thread and between you and littlestar, I feel like I need to stop my pathetic attempts

or practice for 100 years :o

They are just plain amish pins with a bead I put on them :-)

You were the first person I thought of when I saw this question asked, I love seeing this hairstyle on your Insta. :)
